So my little brother wanted me to install a new gpu. So I first cleaned everything with a cheap air can thingy. Nothing special, I just changed the gpu but the pc case or just me was retarded and when pressing in I missed the slot and pressed against the mobo. Well when starting the pc, the fans of everything are running for like one second and then everything stops and everything tries to start again and again.
My first thought was that the psu bricked so I changed it. Didnt help, Replugged everything, didnt help, tried to start with just mobo l, didnt work. Changed cpu fan, reapplied thermal paste. I took everything off and build it in twoce I pretty much tried everything I can think of for the last 6 hours.
I don't really have much knowledge about hardware but I came to conclusion that the motherboard or cpu is the problem.
Now my question is: Any way to exactly tell whats wrong or if I can fix it? Should I just buy a new mobo?

Even though it's a bit bloated, I enjoy unity. Why is there so much hate for it? Mainstream-ness? I've used KDE, XFCE, No DE just WM's and I still say unity holds up fairly well.

Kind of looks like what would happen if windows 8 and mac os started giving the hanky panky with each other and then decided to bring the bull over to finish the orgy off. Thus Ubuntu Unity was born.
Because stock Debian with XFCE is good enough for GNU/Linux considering all other endeavors by developers for the modernity of any desktop environment usually is fucking ugly. It's gotten so bad that I actually begin to like the looks of GNU/Linux in the early days of KDE because it looks as if it could be nostalgic.

So I have been using Windows for my entire life and I've decided to try out Linux this time. Keep in mind that I've already tried Elementary OS and I really loved it but I want to know if there's something better. I'm looking for a distro that looks good and isn't too heavy on my laptop.

Here are my shitty specs and I've got a question which I will ask here since /stupid questions/ is nowhere to be found.
Currently rocking AMD FX-4350. Obviously not the best CPU out there. Would it be worth it to upgrade to something like AMD FX-8320? What else would you suggest?

ARM GENERAL THREAD
To be honest i belive that arm is the shit, i have rpi and some orange pi, i had server in scaleway. And i looking futher to make small arm server farm and to learn loadbalacing and multiple servers computing.
Another thing is that a lot of u are paranoid about Intel mangament, botnet within motherboard and rootkit shit, so arm is the anwser.
To be honest i am looking after to some desktop arm, maybe i will make some shity 7 inch rpi laptop or wrist comupter, i wouldn't be to hard, but still it use a lot of power and i don't have idea for box and design xD
