The one who made the optimizations wasn't a tranny

Why the heck is Snapchat so freaking laggy on Android devices? It doesn't even matter what phone you have, even the latest and greatest start to lag horribly every now and then when using Snapchat. Is there any reason Snapchat randomly maxes cpu usage to the point where having to restart the phone is the only solution?

It works so much better on an iPhone because Applel doesn't let people put half assed apps onto the app store.

>inb4 Applel is homo and sux memes
Just pointing out a fact tbqh family

>inb4 muh botnet
I've embraced the botnet a long time ago.

Original snapchat dev was an apple fan boy and put 0 effort into the android app

It just screenshots the screen instead of actually using the camera API

I received $11000 in back payments from SSI recently.

I am allowed to spend the money on computer shit since I can claim it's for "business" purposes

what should I buy?

They refused me SSI 2 years ago and I reapplied recently and was accepted. they had to pay me back in the form of two lump sums, one a sudden $11000 deposit into my checking and the other $4200 in the form of two checks, one was already received and went towards paying bills, the other is coming in 4 months

I have more money than I can spend. And if I don't spend it they will cut off my benefits.

fucking US government

>here have 15 grand
>oh but you can't invest it, and you need to spend it all otherwise you don't get your monthly autismbux

So I got a Raspberry Pi 3B as a gift and I love it. Very neat and powerful little box. This device, however, isn't what I'm posting about.

After installing the default Raspbian OS and booting it up, I browsed around what was installed and found some files in My Documents. One of these files was a Pac Man template for a program called Scratch, which is a super high-level programming language for kids to learn. I (21yo college student) have a little sister (7yo) who was sitting with me when I was messing with it, and she asked to mess around with the Pac Man game. She edited all the sprites to look like how she wanted and made the ghosts move faster to make it more difficult. Her eyes lit up messing with the code and hunting through options, then she asked if a Raspberry Pi was too difficult for her, because she wanted one. Knowing the intricacies of linux, I hesitated, but still said no it's not too difficult, "but I should probably be around to help...and I'm going back to college next week".

How do I keep the dream alive, /g/. Is it too early? Should I just buy her a Pi, then when something goes wrong, let her figure it out/lose interest? She's only 7, she only gets this time of her life once.

Congratulations, you have just enticed your little girl to think coding is as easy as taking someone elses work and plagiarizing it. She will be one of those "gurls on computer science" that end up being the teams social media expert.

Please hurt yourself.

I found a x220 in pretty decent condition, I upgraded the ram to 16gb, and samsung 512gb ssd, I bought a battery slice, and installed linux and finally have the best configuration for it; its my road warrior; the only issue I've noticed with the screen is (IPS) model has a lot of ghosting, image retention; when I suspend the computer it's gone..wheres a good reliable source for a new screen? I see a lot of fakes and bad reviews.

Any time an 'anti-linux' opinion is expressed, it's always:
- With an anime image attached
- With a gaming related image attached
- Next to an absolutely stupid opinion regarding computers
- Written with horrible "hindinglish"
- Written with middle-school english
I'm starting to think the audience for Windows is basically Indian 14 year olds who only play games and watch anime.
I mean, I recognize that Windows is better in an enterprise situation because of their great policies. There has to be a negative correlation between IQ and Windows use though.

Proposal: Shadowban anyone posting with a Windows user agent. They're not smart enough to change their useragent, and if they are we should welcome them with open arms.

my first "job" in the field was basically when the guy i was working retail for realized i could fix anything he threw at me and put me on front desk lol
>>
>>53563640
whatever works man.

I'm working for a rural, smalltime IT consultant who does the IT for small businesses too small to have their own. I basically just clean up computers while he does the real work.
>>
my first IT-related job was pure trash, I got thrown direct into a giant spaghetti PHP codebase, done by a random (psychotic) contractor some 6+ years ago, and which this large-ish company had used non stop since then for their internal project management.

They had a list of feature requests, first of which was "it's getting slower and slower, fix that"

Nothing OP. Linux saved the day for outdated OS like Microsoft. Now we all enjoy crazy outdated architecture like hot-rodded Intel x86.
>>
>>53563546
Nothing, it's literally still the best cpu architecture to date. ARM has been dominating mobiles for a while but is on suicide watch ever since the zenfone 2 proved to have better battery life than phones with Cortex A53 ARM modules.

Anyway... anyone have the goods?
