What's the best free antivirus software that I can get right now? It's an emergency
12 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
Common Sense 2016

Failing that, Avast, and Malwarebytes.
>>
If you are already infected with a virus, reinstall your OS. You already know you have been compromised. It is not a good idea to let software clean up your messes for you. Antivirus is to protect, not to fix, and no antivirus is as good as using comon sense.

I've got an associate degree in Computer Networking, is it worth it to sit the CCNA?
72 posts and 7 images submitted.
>>
I've impressed a few bosses by telling them I'm half-way done with my CCNA but when I told an actual IT guy this he just sighed and said that CCNA's are a relic of the past.

He said that having a CCNA was still relevant if I were still looking for a job... in the 90's, but right now all the money is in software development/cloud computing.
>>
If you want to do networking as a career that specializes in Cisco hardware and software, yes.
>>
It's like everything else in the world now. More expensive education needed in order to get a job even though for some jobs the extra education is worthless in order to do said job. Other words; money and time down the damn drain. IT is changing, the actual hands on dealing with computers and networking gear is being outsourced and has become more IT manager/paperwork based instead. personally I like to do hands on work. I hate doing paper work and being stuck with bureaucratic bullshit.

Is it good practice to pull global variables into a local, private variable before manipulating them?

>>
>>54536570
seems more orthogonal to me to pull a global inside, then give it a local variable name, manipulate the data using the local variable, then returning a new global, than it is to just do all the work on the original globals. what if another function is using that global?

Why do AMD owners get so mad when people buy Nvidia cards, but Nvidia owners don't care if people buy AMD?
42 posts and 5 images submitted.
>>
>>54536508
nvidia owners are smart, they want the best product on market but they don't mind imbeciles falling for AMD meme as it keeps prices down.
>>
Success breeds jealousy.

AMD people are waiting for AMD to release a good product
AMD people are waiting for the next Nvidia product to be bad
AMD people are waiting for Nvidia to fail as a business
Nvidia people are waiting for the next generation of cards so they can play their videogames.

>drones like pic related can go up to 1800 feet
>FAA says you can only fly them up to 400 feet

So, whose stopping me from flying it higher than 400 feet? Do they have some kind of advanced drone radar that will cuck you the minute you fly it over 400 feet?

And what happens if I don't register my drone?

How are they going to enforce any of this shit?
67 posts and 4 images submitted.
>>
>How are they going to enforce any of this shit?
With the police drones that they're obviously setting these laws up for.
>>

>How are they going to enforce any of this shit?
How is anything enforced? Fear.
Fear that you will be charged if you seem to be doing any wrong. Fear that you start this thread and question.
>>
>>54536469
I could see them enforcing the registration but not the flight ceiling

I also find it hilarious how you don't have to register a gun but you have to register a drone

So I'm in china right now and I have shit ping playing games and all my chinese friend tell me to download this software that supposedly boosts your ping?

How is anyone buying this shit? a fucking software that boosts your ping?

But everyone say it actually works and I think i might be rused

>boosts ping
Of course it works! Just make sure to install an app to get more RAM, and also get that one app that gives your phone a better screen resolution so that your phone can handle how fast your ping will be
>>
>>54536299
Your ISP doesn't always use the most optimal routing, by going through these services you might get a slightly better route and thus slightly better ping.

>KDE3 - simplistic, powerful, and an all around great DE
>KDE4 - a bloated and disorganized disaster
>KDE5 - maximum eye candy, much more usable than 4 or gnome3, slightly buggy
People who hate on KDE are probably relatively new to linux and either don't remember 3.0 or haven't tried 5 yet. That or it doesn't run as well on their celeron.

What advantage would the S7 have over the 6S other than "hur dur iPhones are for normies"? My upgrade is this month and I don't know which one to pick

The camera, basically.

They're both good cameras, but the S7 has some amazingly fast autofocus.

Shame about Touchwiz
>>
since apps essentially do the same thing, and the hardware really matters not (HURR DURR MUCH EXYNOS HURR MUH DUAL CORE).
I don't know anyone that sits at their desk and jerks off to benchmarks.

I have a 6S and I like it. if I had an S7 I'd like it too.
