/g/ has fallen for the 1080 meme..

980ti (reference)
>28nm
>2,048 shaders
>5.2 billion transistors

1080 (founders)
>16nm
>2560 shaders
>7.2 billion transistors

Double-generational leap in production, not even 50% more transistors/shaders. No Async shaders. No HBM.

This thread is about the appreciation of watches, as well as the micro-engineering and materials engineering that is required to make a fine watch and other shit.

Some anon had worries that the chronograph function didn't snap back right to 12, took a shitty webm.

Try try again...

If I would take something looking like pic related to the watch service guy, could he buff it up into better shape, clean it generally, and go through the mechanics to make sure it runs smoothly? Or is it not worth the trouble? Starting price at an auction is 800 EUR.

You can do whatever you want, bud. Those scratches aren't really going to be noticeable unless you look at your watch two inches from your eyes.

Why did everyone stopped making laptops with 4:3 screens? Widescreen on small notebooks is the stupidest meme and to get any decent amount of vertical space you have to get a 15.6" behemoth with shitty battery life.

my problem is literally having the touch pad directly underneath the keyboard
it's just fucking stupid
>>
>>54539111
>Why did everyone stopped making laptops with 4:3 screens?

because for laptops, screen dimensions must generally equal keyboard-case dimensions.

form factor of a keyboard plus trackpad, even a REALLY ample trackpad, fits much better into a 16:9-ish envelope than a 4:3 one

not keyboards, not internals, but 4:3 screens were the limiting factor keeping laptops large in the height/width direction. For a platform designed around portability, other needs won out.
