Because Parabola is developed and distributed by an independent group and is not a product of a company based in a region with heavy patent restrictions on code supporting encoding and decoding of MP3s.
Fedora is owned by Red Hat Inc. American company based in North Carolina and IS a subject of American export/import laws and thus Fedora cannot distribute patent restricted code in it's official repositories.
Holder of MP3 patents (technicolor) refuses to give unrestricted access as required by the GPL and Fedora Project.

Well of course. Fedora has a strict set of rules regarding non free sotware but has made an exception to it and those are binary kernel blobs.
This was a very pragmatic decision made to make booting, installing and running Fedora viable for most existing computers as most hardware (for example majority of WLAN chipsets) requires non-free drivers to function.
This however by the definition of FSF makes Fedora a non-free distribution.
So yes, absolutely, if you want real freedom you should run a GNU/Linux distribution with the linux-libre kernel on a device with libreboot installed (this being the hardest part)
