To sum up I/O 2016:
>Google Now is now more like Siri
>Google announced their own Amazon Echo, it does literally nothing your phone already can't do right now for free
>Google can now scan your private pictures for people hugging
>Google announced iMessage
>Google announced FaceTime
>Google announced 65 billion cum downloads
>Google announced the Metal API
>Google can now delete pirated apps from your phone
>Google announced the new Splitview and Picture-in-Picture modes for iOS 9
>Google still hasn't given up on VR
>Google announced Wiimotes
>Google announced watchOS 2
>Google announced an update for Google Xcode
>Google announced modular android apps that can run without being fully installed
did I miss anything?
>>54621286
>scan your private pictures for people hugging
Wtf for what purpose?
>65 billion cum downloads
What?
>delete pirated apps
Frightening even without having pirated apps.

Google is bassically the giant, ambivalent, watcher of the internet. It resides on a hilltop higher up than the rest of the small, insignificant tech companies, who sit on their on hills and rest in their own valleys constantly bickering about which one each should own. They rise and fall, and through time almost none of the companies google grew up with are alive. And in the end, google will still be there. Google will always be there.

But god-damn that GPU holder is the best damn case feature I've seen in a long time.
>>54615748
Yeah, but the metal of the case is so thin if it wasn't there my GPU would sag immensely. You can also attach up to a 92mm fan onto the pole in the middle, as there is a screw hole in the plate holding up the GPU

Other business laptops are also welcome in /tpg/ (e.g. Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook).
----
If you're looking for purchase advice, READ THE BUYERS GUIDE FIRST. Then post, stating budget and requirements (e.g. size and performance).
Don't buy anything OTHER THAN T, X AND W/P SERIES if you want the Real ThinkPad Experience™
Recommended models:
T420 - 14", normal size
X220 - 12.5", lightweight
----
Why ThinkPad? (also applies to other business laptops)
>Used machines are plentiful and cheap.
>Excellent keyboards - tactile feel and quiet.
>Great durability: chassis uses a magnesium rollcage for structural integrity, with high quality plastic body panels.
>Utilitarian design: e.g. indicator LEDs, 7 row keyboard layout on older models.
>Docking stations that easily turns your laptop into a desktop.
>Easy to repair, upgrade and maintain thanks to readily available service manuals for every model. Spare parts are easy and cheap to obtain.
>The best trackpoint (that red thing in the middle of the keyboard). Great for those who type a lot or hate swiping their fingers all over a touchpad.
>Excellent GNU/Linux & *BSD support.

Face it. He's a try-hard. He calls himself Dr. Stallman despite only having honorary degrees. That would be like Kanye West calling himself Dr Kanye West. But he doesn't because even he knows that's pretentious.
If Kanye West is less pretentious than you, you're doing something wrong.
Stallman is a gargantuan faggot who calls himself a 'doctor' without having gained a PhD, destroys any credibility he has by acting like an ass "I'm not glad he's dead but I'm glad he's gone" and his only real claim to fame is contributing to the creation of Linux.
Without Linus and Linux the GPL and FSF would have faded into obscurity. They only reason anyone pays them any heed now is because of the (negligible) help it gave Linus back in the early days of Linux.
If anything the FSF should rename itself Linux/FSF, simply because the Linux project and Linus are the only reason anyone would pay them any attention now.
Stallman's work is just a footnote in the history of Linus's achievements. He should be grateful for that, otherwise he would be nothing.
Demanding people call Linux GNU/Linux is audacious.
tl;dr let's move on to move important questions.
Is Stallman a hamster?
>>54609712
4 u maybe
>>54609686
To be fair his work on emacs, gcc, coreutils, and the gpl has had a much greater impact on the field of computing than the vast majority of "real degree" PhD doctors.
If they didn't want him to call himself Dr, they shouldn't have given him the degree. He has the degree, so he has the degree. Simple as that.

Hello frogo
Anybody can help me with nodelists?
When I use querselectorall(), I get back a nodelist. That's cool but why when I typeof() the result I get object rather than Element? This wouldn't usually be a problem but I have added a new function to the prototype of elements that checks what is calling it, ie:function Evaluate (vis, root) { return (this === Element)? ..... }
Element.prototype.Evaluate = Evaluate;
Help a n000b?
I tried my best edition.

Arch Linux vs Debian Unstable
>>54628501
Manjaro.
It's kind of funny, or sad depending on the way you see it. Today I installed Debian stable and decided to upgrade to testing (because the Alpha 5 installer absolutely refuses to install and always fails). So I add the testing repo to the sources.list, and run the dist-upgrade command to upgrade the outdated packages. About an hour later I decide to reboot and low and behold nothing works. The screen get shutting on and off, on and off. It did this about 5 times before completely failing to boot.
This has NEVER happened to me whenever running the update command in Arch.
