I'm getting a new laptop and have all but settled on the Lenovo Thinkpad t420.

The only issue I've been able to think of is the lack of USB 3.
While not a complete showstopper this CAN be potentially annoying. I was wonder what you /g/uy had in mind. Work around or ignore. Or, going forward is USB 3 going to be so important that my machine is all but useless?

If I were in the market for a thinkpad refurb, I would definitely go with an FSF-certified libreboot model, unless I intended to install libre/coreboot myself.
Basically since you know you want an old Thinkpad you have an opportunity to secure your freedom that you shouldn't pass up.
What are the best and worst tv brands?
I only tried Samsung and LG. LG is worse.
Typically Sony TV's have lower latency, faster response times.
Samsung's have better image processing at the cost of high latency.
LG is in between.
The others don't matter as much unless you're on a budget.

I'll go short, my gaming PC died, I don't know how much to spend to run what I usually play ex; CS:GO, Diablo 3, Starcraft 2 and some old games. How much should I invest? I'm located in Canada so it has to be on Newegg, ncix or tigerdirect I think. Thanks for the advices.

I used it at a job for a seriously massive C++ project. Breddy Gud; we made extensive use of the QStateMachine to get a lot of work done, and the implementations of common data structures are useful.

I like it quite a bit. Get the official editor and you can drag and drop forms like in netbeans for Java. Would recommend if you need to get a nice gui done in c++ quickly.
