So this Black Friday I plan to build a new rig. I've got most of the parts selected and ironed out. But I've been caught on a fairly nagging question. Should I go M.2 NVMe drive or dedicated Physx card?
Planning on going with the Sabertooth X99 mobo, i7 5930k (40 PCIe lanes) and SLI GTX 980 ti. If I go M.2 then the final PCIe lane will be disabled and I won't be able to have a dedicated Physx card. But if I go Physx then I won't be able to take advantage of NVMe drives. Also the SFF-8639 M.2 adapter doesn't work if you have dual cards. That's...

With black Friday coming up, I'm looking to upgrade my cpu. I currently have an AMD at 3.4 Ghz quad core, running with a 270x. I need a new mobo if it's not an FM2 socket. I also need a mATX motherboard, cuz I got a little case.
My question is, what's the next step? What can I get for best performance/price ratio?
I don't care about intel vs amd, I just want a better cpu, for mostly gaming.

desu it was on sale for less than the air cooled GPUs. Also all the reviews on it was pretty great. No reported issues with the pump or leaks. Only a few saying the radiator fan is quite loud.

So I had it in my mind I was gonna get a gtx 970 this holiday season, however i recently came into some money ($500 dollars) and I am now considering going with a gtx 980. I am looking at the msi gaming 4g versions of these cards. So will the 100 extra dollars go a long way? I have heard a lot of complaints about the 970's 3.5 vram problem, is this fixed in the 980 and if so does it make much of a difference? I currently have a 1080p monitor but I might use some of the rest of the money to upgrade that as well, so whats the verdict /g/?

The 970 has a better performance/price than the 980, the 3.5vram doesn't matter much as most games run under that. For an 1080p monitor getting the 970 is more than enough
Hey guys. I need some help, I'm trying to figure out a way to create a sealed chamber for my game consoles so they don't get dust on or in them. Any ideas?

Logistical nightmare for the ill-equipped. You'd have to place decent quality filters for both input and output vents. The filters would need to be replaced from ONLY within the chamber (think in terms of ants going to sugar). You would need chamber fans to create an air current. All cords are eventually going to need to connect to the exterior environment at some point. In order to reduce the possibility of dust entering the opening for cords, you would possibly route them all through a leg if they were hollow. You could also scour the internet for some sort of circular clamp that is adjustable to the amount of cable coming out of the chamber.
As I said, a logistical nightmare to properly keep dust out.
If your serious about this i can write up a how to. I do this for a living at hospitals. It will cost you a little money (700-1000) to do it right but its not hard. HEPA filters are best used. You will have a very strong neg- air in the "chamber" that will be clean as dick spit. Let me know and ill post a PDF or something that will guide you.

As stated in the title this is my first build! After a bunch of browsing I've come to choosing this build. All I need now is some help on picking a good motherboard for around $100 and opinions on whether a 25" 1440p monitor is a good buy (I love the design and thin bezels)? Would I be better off saving money and buying a cheaper 1080p monitor that's a similar size? I also need a way to connect to WiFi reliably with a strong connection. I'm using it for gaming, music production, and schoolwork.

just gathered a low budget gaming PC. what do you think? it's around $440.
btw, I'll add my spare 4GB RAM and 2 HDD's.
DigitalFoundry uses these specs for their tests sometimes, lots of YouTube videos benchmarking it, check them out. It is basically within ±10% of PS4 depending on the CPU usage of the game. However they use 8GB RAM.
A good combo is the i3/750ti which you can OC.
A slightly better combo is i3/950.
Next tier would be mid-high range with i5/960.
I mean if you are constrained by budget as fuck, you should still at least get an i3 4130/FX-6300 with 8GB RAM and upgrade your 750ti to GTX 950 later. Above 750ti is better than console experience.
