Found the chrome user.
Is sRGB good for gaming? What color temperature do you use?
unless you are a professional that needs color accuracy and all that comes with it, it really won't matter.
>>51744379
TN is good for gaming and TN is generally an even smaller colorspace than sRGB. To even get 100% sRGB coverage (let alone Adobe) you're going to spend probably 50% more money compared to a monitor that doesn't feature it's colorspace specs.
>>51744379
sRGB is already too wide for gaming
sauce : I have a 100% sRGB screen and the colors are oversaturated by default
Post your speedtest results.
>>51744308
okay, bro
this is over ethernet
wifi here is much worse, it takes a while to connect and is fairly slow, like 10 mbps up/down
Not a super fast speed but also not terrible. Works for what I do. I have 150gb on my broadband and uploads are unlimited.
Why don't you deserve to have friends /g/?
>IRL friend has small at home server for his family to share files, stream, etc.
>friend hardwired whole house with switches on all 3 floors that connect to server as a fun project.
>he knows basic routing and switching, but has shit security.
>no login or password required on console port because it is in his house and he see's no need for it
>His family is gone all day most days, server and network see's no use besides him when he's off of classes for a break or for the day.
>Picks his sister up from school, we've known each other for a while so I stay while he goes for maybe 10 - 15 minutes.
>kek.pka
>grab my laptop and console cord, hook into switch connected to his parents or sisters devices, whichever I feel like.
>delete startup configs, reboot switch, shutdown all ports, save as new startup config.
>problem doesn't arrive until later in the night normally, parents yell that "The network is broken" and "why don't we just do it like we used it"
>He blames problem on used craigslist switches, gets extremely frustrated
>been going on for 6 months, he suspects nothing
>mfw
what an incredibly lame prank
that is really mean anon!
>>51744241
That isn't funny that is just making someone's life unpleasant.
You also may have fucked with his family if they had something important to do.
just stop.
Been toying with Linux a bit lately, and the latest forced Win10 update bullshit has convinced me to make the jump and banish Windows to a virtual machine for the rare occasion I need it.
I'm currently trying to decide between Ubuntu and Mint (Cinnamon version). Aside from the obvious UI differences, what's /g/'s opinion on them? What are they like to use long-term, in terms of updates, stability, package selection, just-werks, etc.? I already know about Ubuntu's Amazon crap and Mint's search engine crap and how easy both are to disable.
I'm not completely tech-illiterate, but I don't know that much about Linux and I'm not really interested in making it a hobby, so I'm mostly looking for as smooth and hassle-free an experience as possible.
>install gentoo
No.
They're the least free distros that exist. Better than windows, at least
>>51744232
both are fine, both operate like a windows box, you will be fine either way. Install gentoo
It depends if your favorite colour is red or green desu senpai.
I'm the guy who asked how to deal with adversarial HR department in tech. I had some mixed results soliciting advice last night, but did get some good advice - generally shut up, collect money, save, get out.
Upon some reconnoitering, it's a little more fucked up than before -- after asking around about the past QA people who were "so awful," I found out they're working at a household name .com. My company has an employee directory hasn't been updated in some time, so I called their personal cell phone number.
I found out they went through the same bullshit and left quietly. The twist? The HR director started cold-calling and emailing his CURRENT employers trying to get him fired THERE. He forwarded some emails; it's incredible.
Have you ever dealt with HR that crazy? What does /g/ recommend? Near as I can tell, this person didn't list Company A anywhere in his resume and HR tracked him down anyway.
For reference, the thread last night was archived.
>>51729083
PS - HR from hell continues to be pretty bad, what do?
>>51744130
Nigga they don't care about what you did or didn't do, some one wants to give your place to a friend or a family member, that's all. Probably someone from the upper management.
Get another job or fight back and probably get black listed like those people you called.
>>51744290
That's a good perspective, though from what I can tell, he didn't fight back. He left at the first brush with HR and she's still trying to end him.
I've looked at his work. It's better than most of the staff here.
I'm increasingly convinced I just need to leave now, regardless of whether I have another job lined up.
>>51744130
He should sue her for defamation.
So is there any ad blocker for android that works?
Also general android must have apps thread the non-tinfoilhat edition
I use AdAway found in the F-Droid app store
>non-tinfoilhat edition
fine, i won't post the answer then.
what's wrong with ads if you have nothing to hide?
adaway
what computer has moot-senpai got?
>>51743710
who?
>>51743710
he's a massive faggot. take a wild guess
>>51743722
some faggot
I think this deserves a thread considering the amount of Windows Vs OS X Vs Linux threads.
Anyway, my sister is going to start college next year and my mother is convinced she needs a Macbook.
I've shown her the chromebook and a few other stylish laptops but she's convinced Apple is king. What do ye think ?
Is it an investment considering the great customer service, solid hardware and OS, and lack of viruses compared to Windows, since linux is out of the question due to normie constraints.
Hit me up, Rajeet.
>inb4 linux is OS X
>>51743596
tell your mother shes an idiot, doesnt know what the fuck shes talking about, her opinions are completely based on stupidity.
post her reply.
Let her do it you sperg, the hardware is good and the OS is normie-proof.
She's liberal and I tried to explain how Apple are one of the biggest tax evaders on the planet, didn't work.
Take 2: So if you had a Mercedes Benz and a carbon copy without the badge and a price tag of 10 grand compared to 50 would you buy it ? No response.
I'm trying to not let my neckberdism(free as in speech) take over, but it's hard lads.
Why?
>>51743269
After all of the threads on /g/, and this anon is still using firefox
kek
>>51743931
And? They haven't removed addons yet, until then I have no reason to switch to palememe or some shit
>>51744230
Palememe crashes on watching webms anyways
Hi guys, i'm just going to buy a new phone.
In a few words, i'm just asking wich is better for you.
>>51743266
I'd always go with the newest iPhone
>>>/spg/
I was going for a note but then i realized the connection is shit so if you have the cash gofor the g4 or v10 literally perfect for just normal anit but still more practitcal than most other flagships with literally every perk and option
Is this guide still valid?
>>51743236
>2009
Well what do you think?
>>51743236
>i5
Obviously not.
>>51743236
install gentoo
Recommend me a IPS 23" or larger, monitor for at maximum of 400€ (433$)
It's for 70% watching movies/series and 30% pc gaming, so i don't want a response time too low.
Height adjustment is a big plus
>>51743188
You already know your panel type, budget and response time requirements. Is it really that fucking difficult to use google? Did you really need to make a new thread for this? Just fuck off already.
>>51743573
Yes it is, i don't know if i should get this 23.8” 144p - https://pcmonitors.info/benq/benq-bl2420pt-with-23-8-inch-wqhd-screen/
Or get a cheaper, larger, 27'' 1080p ( i also read you get alot of glare on this screen)
Or even other monitor i'm missing out.
Also, does 6ms affect gaming that much or is it barely noticeable?
>>51743188
Why not go for Korean ips? 1080p at 27" looks terrible.
Otherwise look at dell
How do I do this?
It's the last project I'm working on for a class, it's C++.
I only know how to edit config files for my desktop desu
I only know how to helloworld.exe
>>51743158
your going to have to use a dynamic string array to be resized every time it reads a new string (make a function out of it)
make a variable to count the total number of strings
then use that variable to make your loops for each question
So Windows 10 just removed Speccy from my PC because 'it is no longer supported on your version of Windows'.
I thought /g/ was memeing, but Windows really is uninstalling shit from my PC. What the fuck do they even think they're doing?
You gave them permission.
if you still use windows you just don't belong /g/
you're on your fucking own, we've warned you for YEARS
>>51743049
There's a new approved speccy that works with Win 10, but yeah Microsoft gets to remove programs and security features when they feel like it.
