Let's play the 5k game I just invented

> All your tech shit burned in a fire
> You got $5000 USD to spend, what tech do you buy?
> Computer? Monitor? TV? Console? Phone? Tablet? Office Chair? Headphones? Dragon Dildo?
> Whatever you buy must be kept for 5 years, you cannot buy anything else during this period for hardware
> Post the item you are buying and rough but realistic price, if you find a super cheap price for it you can list a link
> If you buy shit used, and roll double digits, 69, 42, or ending with any consecutive numbers like 12, 23, 34, etc then all your shit breaks within 6 months
> Shipping/Taxes don't matter as it's different for everyone, MIRs are honored

5k is easily enough to get set up for 5 years. 5 years later you have a poorfag rig but i spent maybe ~$600-800 on new parts this year and won't have to upgrade for a while, maybe bits and pieces here and there

Are you kidding brah? C is for dumb people. The classic C book is like 100 pages long.

Now learning C++ and being dumb is nye impossible. It's the reason a lot of people hate C++ (dumbos who can't memorize more than 8 reserved language words)
>>
>>51924920
C is really easy to learn. It's just annoying and takes a bit of time for the concepts to really sink in.

Just learn C enough then go over to C#. I think you'll enjoy C# a lot.

How people those days get their pc infected?

When you write simple trojan that is not visible for avergange antivirus and you want to deploy it.

In the era of win10 and UAC is it even possible?

Did any of you get infected by any shit in last 5 years?
11 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
Most people aren't using UAC properly so it doesn't do shit

If you are using an admin account day-to-day it's worthless
>>
>>51927514
these days if you get infected it would be some semi advanced botnet with a UAC bypass
which is quite common since no one updates windows and some people are still running old versions of XP at workplaces
and if you are infected it will probably run in background and hide from the user

Nope, this is.

>buy used thinkpad for relatively cheap
>spend money upgrading battery because old one is worn out
>spend money upgrading screen
>spend money on an ssd
>spend money on ram

You morons spend the same amount of money as buying a new laptop with higher performing and more efficient components, but instead you buy a used thinkpad instead.
Why not just buy a new laptop that comes with warranty, is more portable, has better performing parts, doesn't require upgrading for a while.
Plus you won't have to clean cat hair and cum out of the keyboard when your laptop arrives.

Pic related, a new laptop.
Australian dollars.
19 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
If you don't upgrade it, it doesn't matter. I used spare RAM from another laptop, battery was fine so I didn't replace that and I'm too much of a poorfag to buy an SSD. It runs great without one so why bother.
>>
>>51925710
I didn't upgrade it at all, spent like ~210 USD on perfect condition T420.

4gb of ram is enough for Debian and some vm usage for me. Screen could be improved but is fine. Battery is perfect. SSD i'll maybe buy later but I don't really need it.

Stop perpetuating the Australian shitposter meme.

Since /g/ is the #1 shill for the meme pad, I want some advice, I need a small laptop for work, I work on my own doing cellphone repairs, windows installs, home network setups, etc.
Currently I have a 17" dell studio which is heavy and ackward to carry around, I would like to know your opinion if that t420 series are good for my needs, basically rooting, iTunes bullshit, etc.

Hi /g/.

Windows has a feature I never figured out how to duplicate in Linux.

You can click Browse... to upload a file and instead of selecting a file from disk, you paste the url into the filename box and bam instant upload without having to save the file locally.

How can I do this with linux?

Use 4chanX

>>51924207
It actually does save the file locally. I don't remember, but I remember when I was checking all the files on my computer of image types, .png, .gif, etc, I found all of them in a temporary folder which wasn't that temporary.
>>
>>51924301
Sorry, I don't remember where it's saved, I mean.

Down the drain with Chrome's only good feature, which was its design. Exoect bland colours.. I mean white all over the place, 4px toolbars padding, wasted space all over the place in settings and context menus, and so on..

It was shit, now it's worse.
