Davey Jones could actually play drums, but the Monkees TV producers wanted him up front because he was the cute one.
I think we should put RMS behind the /g/ band's drum kit.

there's plenty of easy ways to get a hold of pirated movies already, unless you plan to encode and distribute them yourself, just stick to existing distributions

Who remembers (or hell still goes to if they actually still exist) computer shows? Where you would try to find bargains before there was newegg and other online places.

Guys, finally after 3 years of career in video production I landed my biggest contract yet - a breakthrough in my career, but I'm nervous as my knowledge about RAID arrays is very limited.

I will be working with 4K - 5K RAW footage. A lot of it. The final video will be 25 minutes. There is no way I can do this job with regular hard drives or even SSDs as their size is limited. I need at least 40TB of FAST storage. So I know that I need to get a RAID array system. But have no idea what I should go for.

From I can tell, the connection is really important. USB 3 may not be fast enough. Should I buy a Thunderbolt 2 PCI card and a RAID system that has Thunderbolt 2 output?

Any help?

>>
>>55542254
You can do better, for $500. The 16GB of RAM and 2TB of HDD are not going to do anything for your gaming capabilities.

The PSU is also suspect. I will not say anything about the case.

I've gonna an old computer used for making science that runs 32 bit XP professional. It's been crashing consistently and now the registry is corrupted so it won't boot. Microsoft took down the XP isos from their website and I've tried torrenting a couple, but the setups are modified and they can't be used for recovery. Anyone know how I can get an unmolested XP disk?

My mom has one, she loves it. Watches amazon prime shows, Netflix, rents movies, listens to prime music, does chrome-casting from her phone's youtube app
>>
They're not perfect but if you are using Kodi with an external server and need something that also plays Playstation Vue, Nextflix, etc. then they seem to be the best option.
>>
>>55541792
Why is the remote so long OP? Does your mom use it as a dildo while watching fifty shades of grey because your dick isn't long enough?

I have 200.00 this month to buy a new motherboard and 200.00 + (whatevers left over) next month to buy a new cpu. Any suggestions pls?
27 posts and 8 images submitted.
>>
here is a suggestion: keep saving your money.

if you can only afford to buy one component a month you need to evaluate your finances
>>
>>55541788
I'd basically waste it on stupid shit otherwise. It's extra money I'll have so want to out it towards a new low-mid end gaming rig. Want to keep it around 200.00 each for each crucial part.
>>
Put it in a savings account. The money I mean.

The older I get the more I realize how utterly trivial most of the shit we buy actually is.

And the future without a considerable nest egg is grim as hell.
