I wonder what the situation on Linux is. Obviously the new firmware will only be controlled by a windows only stack of exploits even in a dual boot situation , but is Kaspersky aware of any possible tampering of binary distributed packages in linux major distributions, so that an equivalent infection can act on a linux system ? what is the probability of that?

And who the fuck are these guys?

Unfortunately my math is very limited. Only math I use at my job is addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

My high school math is limited to linear equations and derivatives but it is rusty after years not using it.

Can /g/ please help me find good math books I can start with? I want to learn the fundamentals of math used in ML.
Help a fellow programmer.

Probably not. Also, it's Shockwave, a separate thing, not "Shockwave Flash".

Man I have been doing IT shit for just under a decade. CCNA, RHCE and a smattering of MS teaching certs under my belt. Not as long as some of you I am sure, but I know I am fucking done with IT. On-call rotation, helpdesk ringover, audits, budget defending. All of it is just horseshit.

What do I even do at this point as a job? I mean all I have in a background is IT.

What can I do to increase the lifespan of my laptop battery? Is it bad to keep it plugged in at 100% charge? Should I take the battery out and run it on AC power?
22 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>55542648
Yes to the first question. Actually, both extremes are bad. You don't want it fully charged or close to it, nor do you want to have it dead or nearly dead. Keep it between 30%-70%.

If you're going to be at a desk for an extended period of time then yes, remove the battery and keep it on AC power. Extreme heat from the dozens of shota threads you have open will affect the longevity of your battery life.
>>
I've read that it good to cycle a bit at least sometimes, but never to let it completely drain. This applies to all modern lithium batteries.
>>
>>55542648
Pee on it whenever it starts to die. The alkaline is invigorated from the ammonia in your urine, exciting the electrons and repairing some of the calcification from overuse.

Hey /g/ents so my 7 year old laptop (Toshiba Satellite L650) can't run most modern games and that's okay, but old-ish games like Skyrim and Max Payne 3 make it run hot and eventually it shuts down

I played Skyrim on it back at launch no problemo, so my guess is either CPU or GPU overheats, so what are my options here?

I wish I "could", but I'm continuing my studies and it's kind of uncertain for how long I will stay at the new place, and building one and hauling it around is not the ideal for me right now. It's not even for the gaming aspect, I just worry it might evolve into not handling menial tasks

>>55542465
Yeah I was thinking along these lines but having done that on a desktop, I think I might fuck something up being a portable
