tfw all this free solar power going to waste
tfw normies will never give up their oil and gas
Solar panel installations are expensive as fuck you know.
There's not enough energy in the rays that reach the earth's surface to supply our energy usage even with 100% efficiency.

Dear /g/,
Please explain to me why Gentoo is a better distro than Arch Linux.
it starts with the letter g therefore /g/entoo
>>51974871
there both garbage with little to no benefit over something like lubuntu or xubuntu for being lightweight. They are both just time sinks to make people think there hackers and special because they can't do anything complex thats actually beneficial like working a fucking a job.
>>51974871
/g/ comes before /a/
what do you prefer for gaming?
pic related, is my laptop
I have both...
A Dell Latitude 3540 with a R9 265x and an AMD FX 8120 desktop that still runs the games I need. I am considering upgrading the GPU on it eventually though. But it isn't that bad if you get them spaced apart like you get during one year and get the 2nd one the next.
>gaming laptops
Sure if you want to have a heavy, overheating, underpowered, non upgradeable piece of shit.
>>51974581
Tell me, where are you going to go with you're gaymen laptop? No one gives a shit about your shitty games.
Just a reminder; anything with 'gaming' as it's prefix is inherently shit.
Now go back to /v/

the XMB GUI is good though, Anon.
Hey /g/. How would you go about building custom PCs and upselling them for profit?
I was thinking of doing something like that to make some money on the side. I had the idea of doing it through eBay, but I'm concerned that the selling fee would cut into my profit. Anyone on here have any experience with this kind of stuff?
You won't be able to make any money that way. People who buy prefab gaming computers buy alienware or whatever, and everyone else who might need a custom computer builds it themselves, except enterprise, who buy prebuilts for the warranty.
>>51973875
What about regular computers? People don't just buy computers solely for gaming. And there's a lot of people out there that are too scared to build a computer themselves.
Pretend I'm a possible buyer.
I'm asking how much you could build it for? and how fast it would be? and could it run games? what would you tell me?
What's the best laptop for university?
My vote is MBA 13, XPS 13, or new ThinkPad.
chromebook ssh/vnc into desktop at home.
Dell Inspiron B130

my R61i actually works as my main computer. I just leave it in my room in the 90w adapter with full sized keyboard and mouse plugged in like a desktop. nobody would ever steal it because it's only worth like $50, but it's still way easier to transport than an actual desktop and I only paid $53 total for it after adding a t7300 dual core and 2GB ram. I take really nice paper notes. As you can tell, I like to save money.

uBlock- my choice of adblock software
Nice botnet, faggot.
HOSTS editing - my choice of not installing a bloated and superfluous extension when my OS can do it out of the box without any additional cost of resources
uBlock Origin and HTTPS Everywhere is literally all you need.
what went wrong?
Pretty sure Apple has a mind control device that works on half the public that makes them buy anything, regardless of how unnecessary or bad.
you-know-who didn't have any input on its design, that's what went wrong.

>this watch lasts for 8 hours!
Even iDrones could not stomach that.
Just picked up this little BaoFeng UV-5R. Hearing local businesses and construction mostly. Pretty fun!
Would like to know what cool things you /g/s have done with BaoFengs or any radios in general. Also looking for advice for my next purchase. I'd like a handheld that can do P25 Phase 1 to hear the cops. Suggestions?
Also, RADIO GENERAL.
shameless self bump. I think I'll dump some of the radio related stuff I have from my internet researchings...
Anyone?
>>51972850
I bought one of the 20$ SDR sticks last year.
It covers 25MHz to 2+GHz.
The lower bands are mostly covered by strong radio station signals and the sensitivity was pretty bad to pick up CBs/CW stations. I picked some airport stuff at the 100-150MHz, and some amateur repeaters at VHF.
I could recognize the TV signals, the some encrypted government radios, lots and lots of fucking radars and some bus drivers, but I have to say that unless you really know what you're looking for, I don't see how...

BaoFengs are cheap enough. I'll probably get a couple more.

Ask me whatever you'd like about the device. I'm pretty sure that I'm returning it.
It's the i5, 128GB, 4GB RAM configuration with the new keyboard.
>>51972639
how are you today?
why r u returning it
how does it run linux?
would like one, but not sure about drivers and shit.
tfw logan is actually right for once. G, you guys all think you are elitists when in actuality you are all just tech-hipsters
>I'm not spoon fed enough so I think that the community sucks wah
Linux is for people who are smart enough onto do research and troubleshooting on their own with minimal help from others. It's not for normalfag Facebook machine shit posters

NEW STICKY, THANK YOU MODS
MODS = GODS
Jej, another pointless sticky that no one will read.
It's full of mistakes though hehe
>/g/ is NOT your personal tech support team or personal consumer review site.
it's still full of misinformation
Be honest. Which OS do you prefer for Pentesting? Kali Linux or Debian??
Kali of course.
>>51968085
Why though?
>>51968057
how can you make debian useful for pentesting?
Who's your ISP /g/?
Comcast is my ISP.
R8 and h8
The ISP owned by the city I live in, providing me with 300 Mbit/s over fiber.
