Ok so I have a password saved in a text file as '¸¾»£¼¡§ˆ™‰' and I need to decrypt it so that I can access a database.

Can any of you guess how it's been encrypted? Cheers.

If you want an android tablet Remix OS makes by far the best.

Don't forget Windows 10 tablets exist though
>>
>>54739460

It's a rebranded white-good running a Linux distro with a dalik VM emulator/engine. And it's $300 at that. For a fucking ARM tablet.

http://www.gearbest.com/tablet-pcs/pp_289082.html
There.
That's $300, runs Windows AND Stock Android, Surface-like 3:2 ratio for actually getting shit done, 2x real USB ports, 4GBs of RAM, 2160 x 1440 screen, it's literally better in every way. And if you want some shitty linux variant on it, go ahead and slap whatever distro you want on it.

>Martin Wimpress has posted a detailed report on the work going into Ubuntu MATE, particularly the upcoming 16.10 version that will be launched this October. Some of the key changes involve migrating from the GTK2 library to GTK3. "Some of the old libraries that MATE GTK2+ depends on are unmaintained, deprecated and being removed from many distributions. In order for MATE to remain relevant, the move the GTK3+ is essential. HiDPI, is going to be a thing. Really, it is. With MATE 1.14 built against GTK3+ we have initial HiDPI support working."

Neutrality is a Trojan horse. All content, including advertising, can't be discriminated against.
>>
>>54739151
dont worry, the invisible hand of the free market will solve the problems. government stepping in to something like this would only hurt the consumer, because ISP's have shown time and time again that they will adjust to help out their customers at the cost of their bottom line.

and that 69 million dollars will surely put a huge dent in our debt! you know, the debt that liberals naturally cause 100% of and not republicans by any way at all.
>>
>thinking the FCC has your best interest at heart
Remember when they swore that rule about router power output wasn't to bully router manufacturers into closing off their hardware to open source firmware, then it happened to conveniently do exactly that?

Fuck the FCC, this is good.

I just switched from Windows 8.1 to Ubuntu. I am attempting to install steam, but it automatically installs to my main drive, which is full (I was retarded enough to only give it 7.5GB). How do I choose what directory to install to?

How about you install on the 7.5GB drive and choose another location for the games to be installed?

This isn't a GNU/Linux board. Go back to /v/
>>
>>54739119
When you click on a game to install it on the first window that pops up there will be a drop down menu. On here you have a choice to install on the default directory or to create a new library.

Hope this helps!

Just got a Digital Ocean server.

For a website, am I supposed to make the files permissions owned by root, www-data, or user?

What is www-data anyway?

What happens if I fuck up permissions, can something go public that not supposed to have access?
7 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Files should be owned by the user.

www-data is the user under which Apache runs.

If you fuck up permissions you risk a lot more than private files going public.

Well I installed Joomla to /var/www/html/joomla

Couldn't login, it gave error.

I did
sudo chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www/html/joomla

Now it works. Did I do it right?
