So I'd like to design indie video games independently as a one woman team. I'm imagining mobile games would probably be best suited for this. I know how stereotypical this sounds, but what would be some good steps towards this career?

I have no programming, 3D design, or technical experience. I'm starting from square one, but I'm at square one with everything else in my life and at this point I'm thinking, "Fuck it, I'll go with what I love."

Assuming that you aren't trolling, you should leave because this is the wrong place to ask.

I'm going to give you the best advice you could possibly hope to receive:

Give up. Find something else to love instead.

>Comcast today announced it will launch Extreme 250, a new 250 Mbps Internet speed tier for California customers. The company also will increase its Performance tier from 50 Mbps to 75 Mbps and its Blast tier from 105 Mbps to 150 Mbps, both at no additional cost to customers. These changes will go into effect starting in May and continue throughout the year.

>In addition, Comcast will roll out its residential multi-gigabit broadband service to nearly three million California homes starting in June. Gigabit Pro is a symmetrical, 2 Gigabit-per-second service that will be delivered via a fiber-to-the-home solution and offered to customers in the Chico, Fresno, Marysville/Yuba City, Merced, Modesto, Monterey, Sacramento, Salinas, San Francisco Bay Area, Santa Barbara County, Stockton and Visalia metro areas*.

Who's going to upgrade to 250Mbps? Who is going to pay insane amounts for a 2Gbps installation? Who else gonna be upgraded to 150 for free tier?

It's going to feel odd not having shit Internet in Stockton.

Is anyone else sick of how exponentially invasive the internet has become in the past 5 years

-email services require your phone number
-youtube accounts want your "real name"
-Facebook peddles your info to advertisers
-Smart TVs record your conversations in your living room.

A Macbook is more than just the hardware. I bought a Macbook because I love the aesthetic design. The engineering effort that goes into an Apple product is amazing, and people ignore it because it uses consumer hardware you could find in other computers. It's insane and it's ignorant.

Using OSX is part of the complete package. A beautifully designed aluminum Macbook with an esquisite operating system, that's Unix-based (and I can develop HAPPILY on) and with a UI that was made with time and care. This wasn't a rushed product made by developers contributing to some FOSS project.

That's how I feel. Take it or leave it. As for price.... Apple has an entire team for just making it look pretty. There's a lot of money that comes from the extra effort they do in this part. If you can afford a Macbook, buy it. If not, then don't. But to judge others for spending a little more on a Macbook rather than a lot less on a plastic Thinkpad that they can put Windows or Linux on is not cool. If that's what you want, then you can have it. I like Thinkpads. But I sure as hell wouldn't judge someone for buying a Macbook.

Merge or not, it still doesn't really solve any of the core issues plaguing the market right now, considering the fact that we are still left with two monopolies.

But everybody is just gonna keep parroting "THE FREE MARKET WILL FIX IT" because everybody doesn't want their friend to think they suck cock and are a liberal.

See you guys in Canada or something.

Telecom monopolies are even worse in Canada.
