Recommend me songs to add to a night drive playlist /g/

Don't really mind what genre or artist, as long as it's good I'll add it in

otherwise /musicwhilecodinggeneral/ I guess, to keep it somewhat relevant to the board

Hi /g/ I'm staying with my family again for a bit while I save up money and my younger brother (18) pirated a few movies or something and our wifi got turned off by the provider because of this. It's back on now but should I worry about it being watched or anything like that? Picture unrelated

You have a retarded brother. You must block blacklisting sites or else face a lawsuit.

It truly sucks to even use wireless you pestilent fuck.
>>
>>51831220
I don't pirate anything so I should be alright. They would have said something if they were gonna do a lawsuit against him wouldn't they? I was told about it secondhand by my father and he said he just called a number and got the wifi turned back on

only in the netherlands you can safely pirate without having to go anonymous.
I live in the netherlands and i have never, ever used an anonimizer to torrent.

Alright, so here's a weird situation...
My mom just walked into my room all panicked and shit.
So what happened was that she restarted her S4 and on the startup lock screen she saw the text "I'm watching you..." in the upper left corner. (pic related)

Anyone happen to know anything about this?
Can't find anything on google.

Sure, alright.
Anyone know anything specifically about what's going on here?
With a signature like 'I'm watching you' I'd expect to be able to find something about it online, but I didn't see anything anywhere.
The battery is going to be removed for now, but I'd actually like to know what it is (aside from the fact that it may be malware)

Any try-hard Cisco nerds out there?
Just finishing my 2nd minimester in the Cisco Networking Academy and just wondering what sort of jobs are out there?

Would it benefit me more to cram for CompTIA tests like Security+ or Network+ rather than the CCENT and CCNA?

network+ is garbage

a ccent is pretty much network+ plus some cisco oriented shit tossed in. personally i find ccent more valuable than a network+ cert because of it.

i find ccent to be a great cert to pair with something else. like a rhcsa (pure system administrator for linux desktops and servers) / rhce (pure system administrator for linux desktops and servers plus linux networking shit like samba, apache, and whatnot) or msce (have you tried turning it on and off again?). shows you really understand networking and divisive with knowing cisco, or some cisco shit.

ccna is very valuable. cisco hardware is used everywhere and is the backbone of stuff you wouldn't even think was. you're studying to be a network engineer. network engineer is essentially the system administrator of network equipment and infrastructure (routers, switches, cables, extra).

security+ is a great cert to pair with other certifications. security is something that's high in demand right now thanks to all the breaches, hacks, and such.

I work at cisco. You can ask me anything if you're interested about how things work

magnets - how do they work?

What's the nastiest virus you've ever encountered?

2 days ago my pc had a nasty virus/problem:
- internet didn't connect by itself as usual
- The wifi icon was nowhere to be found.
- When I entered network connections via other ways it would say: "this folder is empty".
- Cable internet connection always displayed a red X and also didn't work.
- I couldn't change my video settings through the right click menu. No window would pop up when I tried.
- The task manager would close itself after about 10 seconds.
- I tried a variety of options from the win10 boot menu: windows recovery said there was a problem with one of my external drives. I removed them, and it claimed it was another drive that wasn't even in my pc at the time. It recommended me to run chkdsk /r. When I got back to windows it said windows recovery has been disabled.
- "windows reset" claimed it couldn't continue without a clear reason why
- Other options didn't work, or weren't possible.
I felt blocked at every turn, and I soon realized a format was my only option.

A family member asked me to help her out with building a website for her small company because the developer she hired wasn't answering her emails and just being a lazy cunt in general. She chose a wix template but had trouble using their web design tool. Keep in mind I'm not a programmer, developer or anything. I just spend too much time in front of a computer so know how to use them better than most people.

I had no idea how fucking easy website building has become. I also checked other site building tools and they're literally click and drag baby shit but the average pleb finds it too hard to learn. Also, from talking to people in general, I noticed for some time web site developers/designers are the worst professionals of any industry ever. They charge insane prices, are hard to reach, lazy and generally treat customers with contempt. It took me one afternoon to get my relative's website up and running, something which her paid web developer had been procrastinating for 3 months lmao.

So /g/, how unethical would it be for me to charge people to build websites for them through user friendly tools? Would that even be legal? This seriously seem like a gold mine to me. I feel like I could set up two websites or more a day and charge $100 for each, something which would still be way below industry prices. Am I missing something here?

Bias warning, freelance webdev here.

>I had no idea how fucking easy website building has become.
If you're happy with generic static information-only Wix site #9003, sure. It's a legitimate option for some people. As soon as you want to add or change something that doesn't have a Wix-provided button, though, you're screwed. You're also screwed if you want any sort of interactivity.

>Also, from talking to people in general, I noticed for some time web site developers/designers are the worst professionals of any industry ever. They charge insane prices, are hard to reach, lazy and generally treat customers with contempt.
I'm sorry your friends have had experiences like that. I certainly hope they aren't typical. They certainly aren't true of me; I don't think I would ever get another client if I acted like that. I'm available on every platform ever during working hours, charge reasonable package prices[1], and work hard to get the job done on time and keep the customer happy.

I write sites from scratch (will sometimes use a Wordpress backend if the client needs to update it themselves, but always writing an original theme) and work full-stack, implementing both frontend design and backend implementation.

>something which her paid web developer had been procrastinating for 3 months lmao
Was there a deadline in the contract? There was a contract, right?

[1] Reasonable meaning a (quite low-end since I'm still building a portfolio) market rate of £20 ($30) per hour, multiplied by a realistic estimate of working hours, plus 15% to cover fees and such.

A simple informational site would be done to a high level of quality for £370, for example.

Of course, complex webapps would take a lot longer and cost a lot more.

I have more to say on this but comment's getting too long. Hope this answers some of your questions anon

Also,
>So /g/, how unethical would it be for me to charge people to build websites for them through user friendly tools? Would that even be legal?
Sure it's legal, and perfectly ethical provided you aren't misleading them about what you're providing. In fact, some potential customers have had the same idea and are posting jobs specifically for doing Wix work:
https://www.freelancer.co.uk/projects/html/Build-website-Online-shop-WiX/

(Caution: I do not suggest actually using awful sites like Freelancer unless you have no other choice)

However, search the same site for "Wix" and notice that, for every project asking for a Wix site built, there are multiple others asking for theirs to be redone as a standalone Wordpress-powered project:

There are three ways to try Linux, you can:

1) Install a Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
2) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full Linux experience".
3) Go balls deep and overwrite everything with Linux (not recommended)

If you are serious about switching to Linux and if you have Windows dual-booted (recommended for pure newbies), we recommend you use it exclusively for 2 weeks, and avoid Windows dual booting for that period of time, or it's likely you will start retreating back to windows instead of getting used to Linux as your new home and working on making it feel the way you want it.

>Recommended for beginners:
-Ubuntu MATE
-Debian (For Broadcom devices, use an ISO that includes non-free firmware)
-openSUSE
-LinuxMint (a.k.a Ubuntu LTS + Cinnamon)

It's good enough

So, I just created a fresh Firefox profile, I've done all my settings, imported bookmarks and what not, except for extensions - currently I rely only on my hosts file to block ads and other crap. Before I pull the trigger, should I install uBlock Origin instead of ABP? Is it really blocking ads, not just hiding them? I don't want NSA to see me through the webcam while furiously masturbating to Riley Reid.

oh well, yet another meaningless distro is getting somewhat popular.

Also, so much dev time is being wasted on rubbish. Budgie could be very well be a gnome extension, same goes about cinnamon is well

In general, linux could be great if all them devs got to work on only few decent distros like fedora (aka redhat test ground), and backing technology, drivers and so on.

Linux is shit cuz it is too chaotic, too fragmented; too much freedom is bad too.

Nice, do you have an RSS feed? Where can I subscribe?
>>
Why is it meaningless? This project is exactly what Linux needs right now.

If I'm not mistaken, the Solus Project philosophy is rather distinct from the mainstream Linux distros and it would, instead, be more sensible and beneficial to accept that.
