I have one (bottom left corner).

It's nice to have a movie on or something playing while a storm rages outside, the power flickers and you dont give a shit> just keeps playing.

Mine lasts about 25-30 minutes on battery.

What about crossover either net cable? Is there anyway I can check in my desktop?

Additionally, I have an old spare dvi monitor. Problem: my ggc 960 doesn't have a dvi port. The dvi port on the motherboard wouldn't display to dvi.
I unplugged GPU and connected dvi to the slot on motherboard. It still wouldn't display. Recommendations?
>>
>>55334011
If you're using even remotely modern hardware you don't need a crossover cable ever.

The lights still come on. The fans spin. Problem is the GPU doesn't have a dvi slot. All I have now is a dvi monitor.

And? Isn't the point of Linux that you aren't limited to the defaults if you don't want to be?
>>
>>55333721
The point of linux is allocating the machine’s resources to programs and back; the usual stuff a kernel does.

Sup /g/, I have up to this point been your average windows user occasionally tinkering with linux, have taken some basic CSC courses, been familiar with it all my whole life.

But recently windows 10 auto installed with what I can only assume was some buried permission button I clicked while using windows 7.

This is upsetting, as I have known windows 10 to be anti-privacy, even more than 7. I'm taking the time to wipe my traces, hopefully not too late.

What I'd like to know is that if I set up two partitions on my hard drive, one with windows 7/10 for emailing/shitposting/etc. and one with a linux os, could the windows partition talk to the linux partition, read its content or anything on that scale. If so, would encryption be necessary? What steps would need to ensure whole security?

Also, general privacy thread I guess, any help would be appreciated.

>reading ext4
No, but even then if youre worried encyption is literally just 1 click while installing ubuntu.
>>
>>55332088
Windows is very capable of reading and formatting in ext4, but I don't believe it could ever boot from the format.

And OP, just encrypt your Linux installation. If you're booting one OS at a time, as opposed to some kind of VM setup, Windows will only ever see an encrypted Linux partition.

I’d just like to interject for a moment. What you’re refering to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called “Linux”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU project.

There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called “Linux” distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

>>
>>55332038
Sharpen is the opposite of blur.

Just like division and multiplication.

Just get GIMP and use the sharpen tool.

Works best under gentoo
>>
That's some pretty strong fucking blur but I wouldn't be surprised if some text-recovery algorithm Google or the NSA have could figure out enough bits and pieces of it for you to use your imagination to piece together.
Not sure how you'd go about convincing them to do that for you though.
