>Apple patent aims to jam cell phones to prevent concert recordings, photos
>Apple has struck what may turn out to be a major blow against that horrible person at the concert who obstructs your view by recording the whole event on his phone. The company has just received a patent for technology that would allow cell phones to be temporarily blocked from shooting photos or videos, after receiving infrared transmissions from a broadcasting device.

There's already a thread about this.

Fucking hilarious that that's an article written about it. Where the fuck shitty goyrag did you get that from?

> anon makes yet another thread about the same topic
> anon does not realise a cheap IR filter over the lens will render the system completely useless, which is why it was never widely deployed in cinemas when the idea first popped up years ago.

Fuck off faggot.

All these people complaining about Pajeet taking your jobs, did you learn web development and how to create CRUD Java enterprise software, or did you learn how to create fault-tolerant distributed systems or do statistical learning?

Only by doing things greater than Pajeet can you be a true American. Being born here isn't enough.

I'm not a Pajeet or any other brownskin, I'm a snowmonkey. But I'm currently doing my PhD on creating a unified I/O framework for computing clusters connected over PCIe. I aim to go to the US when I'm done and steal some job from an American daddy's boy.

H-1B visas are a great opportunity for people like me who want to escape the socialist imprisonment the Scandinavian countries are and the oppression that is insane tax levels.
>>
But the vast majority of programming jobs are either enterprise or web
>>
>>55335971

Don't bring facts into the argument, anon. OP thinks H1-B visas only go to code monkeys and that American companies don't have offshore offices.

What went right?

Everything apart from the too cheap cooling block.

I would have been willing to pay 300-350 for 980ti levels but I am fine with its current power. I'll either get an AIB version or wait for the nano to plumet in price.

Able to play most games at 1080p and just about 60fps which is what all the kids moving over from consoles have been told matters.

Cheap enough to convince your mum to spend your good boy points on, and also realistic for third world shitters.

I hate to say it, but AMD won this generation. Not in terms of performance, but in terms of marketing to the right demographic.

>>
>>55335500

if the file hasn't been overwritten *at all* use something like testdisk/photorec that has file signatures for truecrypt encrypted files

if it's a hidden volume and you didn't backup any of the headers then kiss that volume good bye

Do you have some suggestions on low budget cpus? I want to buy GTX1080 + CPU, but this cpu gets its budget limited by the gpu. on Intel side, there's a g4400, on AMD's side? y'know, I think I'll need more cores than 2

CPU runs games so be careful, some fag is running around /g/ spamming everyone to post in his generals threads.

But your question you need an Intel quad-core or 6-8 core AMD part OC'd past 4.3 GHz.

With the 1080, really, you need an i5.

So how likely is that Nvidia has insiders AMD?

This is like the Fury X fiasco and the 980Ti release.

Could it be that Nvidia engineers have figured out AMD?

Why use something like this, when you already have databases of trusted pgp public keys on Linux distros?
>>
>>55335196
What if you don't have the key of a twitter or github user. You can import the key from keybase to gpg or encypt within the application.

Any advice on cheap microphones? Gonna use it for talking over discord/teamspeak.

A cheap alternative to http://v-moda.com/boompro-microphone/ would be great, i.e. something that goes into the second 3.5mm jack on my V-MODA XS.

So what do you think will be AMD's biggest blunder with Zen? could be anything from marketing to memory bandwidth, slow overall performance, TLB2.0 bug or even yields though i highly doubt it, Samsung are pretty great unlike global shitters

or do you think everything will go perfectly and there's going to be Opteron's with 64 threads blowing the server markets asshole apart and consumer 8 core chips for sub-400 dollars, with either case each core performing like broadwell, Andy Bryant is just going to hang himself in his office and the environment goes to shit because all the market share AMD gained is going to be green power we lost from intel.

>>
I don't think AMD will mess up with Zen.

Just look at their current GPU lineup, the performance per dollar is simply top notch
>>
>>55334952
But it's an entirely different team of people working thousands of miles apart on different projects. the ATI team has actually missed APU deadlines in the past becaause they just kept focusing on discrete graphics, so it's arguable that division isn't even as on tight of a leash as they should be.
>>
>>55334994
The company believes in that core idea though. The value will be there if the AMD name is on the product

I'm curious to see how different languages handle trivial functionality.

Write the shortest function possible that opens a file for reading, copies the contents to a string, and returns a string or pointer to a string.

I'll start with C.
char *create_buffer_from_file(const char *filename)
{
FILE *fp = fopen(filename, "rb");
fseek(fp, 0, SEEK_END);
long len = ftell(fp);
fseek(fp, 0, SEEK_SET);
char *buf = (char *) malloc(sizeof(char) * len + 1);
fread(buf, len, 1, fp);
buf[len] = 0;
fclose(fp);
return buf;
}
