Wait a second... if all password required services start using these requirements doesn't that essentially make using those precautions useless as the passwords crackers can eliminate passwords that dont contain them?

What do you think they will do /g/?

1080p 30fps or 720p 60fps for dash cam?

1080p would capture more detail, that's what I would choose.
>>
Do you want more detail or 60% slowdown?
>>
720p 30fps would be more than enough, if you want it for proof on something,
But if you're Russian, get 4 dash cams, one on each side, don't miss a thing!!

I decided that for my first programming language, I want to learn Ruby on Rails. Yes, I'm aware that it's a framework and real coding is a lot more involved, but I would like to start designing web apps and all the advice I get is that Rails is the best option.

I'm making a concerted effort to learn, but I keep running into roadblocks; I'm a true beginner to this and a lot of the material I run into seems to assume I already know some things.

So what do I learn BEFORE getting into a specific language? Command prompt? MySQL? Power Shell? A text editor?

What's the most efficient order of operations a completely noobish person would have to learn in order to work their way up to actually programming?

>>
i would suggest running linux on a VM and working in that rather than in Windows, getting Rails running efficiently can be a hassle. if you just want to learn Ruby then Rubyinstaller + some form of editor/IDE is fine.

What did you wear to your interview?

A suit is overkill right?

I wear a suit to any interview for a white-collar job regardless of the dress code. What's the downside to wearing a suit anyway? If its because you don't have one, wear a dress shirt and tie, bit I'm guessing you probably do have one if you're job hunting.

Use this thread to discuss the intricacies and fun in exploring hardware and software that simply doesn't want you to do so, whether by purpose or just through sheer bad design.
The focus is usually videogame hardware and software, but anything else that fits the criteria is more than welcome.

I sold my gaming rig (dual 680s w/1440p monitor) and bought an X200 about a year ago.

It's now my one and only computer and it's still going strong as fuck. Have an SSD in it, obviously.

nigger what are you doing?

I just did a basic Newegg search for a laptop with:

>1440x900+ resolution
>Core i3, i5, i7
>13"-14.5" display
>128GB SSD or higher
>Under 4.9 lbs

You know what the cheapest option was? A 13" Macbook Air. It has 4GB of RAM, but for $100 you can up that to 8GB. So that makes it only $15 more than the Acer TravelMate P
>Core i5 4200U, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD, Radeon HD 8750M, 14.0" 1080p

And the exact same price as the DELL XPS 13
>Core i7 4500U, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, 13.3" 1920 x 1080

The Air has an i5-5250U which is right between the two. Sure the Acer and Dell have some advantages, like resolution, screen size, dedicated GPU, or double the storage (fine that's a big deal). But Macbooks generally get great battery life and you have the option of an amazing extended warranty for $300. Which costs the same as it would for Acer or Dell, but neither of them have physical stores you can go to. And Apple is pretty renowned for good support and even replacing whole laptops after warranty on rare occasions.

So why are people here always shitting on Macs for being overpriced? Maybe in some specs the base Macbook Air is a bit worse, but it makes up for it by being able to run OS X and having a really good trackpad. I thought everyone said Macs were like 3 times the cost for the same thing, but that doesn't seem to be the case to me. Are there other good ultrabooks for less than $1000 with all the stuff I mentioned (plus 8GB RAM). I'd be interested to see, because I was really surprised the Mac was cheapest.

$999, which is the official price on the Apple site and Newegg. You can add the RAM on the Apple site for another $100.

Just to prove I'm not baiting or anything, here's the search result.
