I don't have a phone.

Need some answers /g/ got caught trying to leave work with an SSD and was going to be fired until one of my cowrokers told me i could resign and leave a letter saying i'm basically quitting to find work elsewhere. I told my manager and he seemed to be okay with the idea, so basically i had two options either i quit on good terms or let them fire me with bad letter.I filled the letter of resignation and everything seems to be okay while i start looking for work elsewhere, will this bite me in the ass when using previous job as reference? I hear they can't give out any of that information since i went with the quit option instead of being fired. I was pretty cool with my manager and supervisors i left on good terms with them, thoughts? I know I'm a piece of shit for it and will never do such a thing again after leaving warehouse with everyone knowing what I have done very embarrassing, never again

10+ years CS here, and I still do that. Habit. Back from a time where it wasn't around and I can usually pull it up with just "go" in the search bar.

Once you get into an automated trance of processes to help streamline your workflow, small stuff like that actually doesn't matter.

Oh, wait, you're a student. I see. You'll learn.

Linux user here, learning how to use windows for work.

I already know i can use ssh- X to remotely run my nix apps from anywhere. Is there a way to view Windows apps on Nix*?

So far all i can see is RDP which moves the entire desktop.

TeamViewer. Free as long as it's for "personal" purposes (not commercial). Not open source though, either .rpm or .deb installer on the Linux side. Works like a charm though

What's your favorite RMS moment / video / quote / speech / whatever?

Mine is when someone introduces him as the "father of open source" and he reacts angrily saying, "if I am the father of open source, it's with stolen sperm" - I wish I had that video, it's somewhere on YouTube but I can't locate it now.

Let's have a comfy RMS thread with good RMS media, pictures, etc.

What if an organized group of hackers would hack into nuclear command control centers, and provoke a nuclear exchange?

Former commander of U.S. nuclear forces says that it's a very big threat:

Has anyone had experience getting negative search results on your name shed down?

I triggered some folks on Tumblr several years ago and it appears when my name is searched for. If I start making profiles on twitter, Google plus etc will they push those search results down duevery to the gap in time?
19 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>52440332
Delete your facebook, tumblr, twitter, instagram, periscope. your only profiles are github, stackoverflow and eventually linkedin.
>>
Yuros have the right to forget.
You have the right to get cucked.
>>
>>52440332
This and create tens of different fake profiles with your name. If it isn't clear which profile tumblarinas refer to, everything ends in a cacaphony. It's called drown what you can't kill.

I am almost out of college and I still cant fucking code. I know some basic Java and some Visual Basic. No Android experience, no JEE stuff, no Webdev. What the fuck do I have to learn to get a job? I do know design patterns, algorithms and all the theoretic stuff though.

>>
>>52440370
Yeah, but what field is the easiest to get into if you almost have a degree?

I think Webdev is full of teenage freelancers, right? You have to learn a lot (from 20 years of HTML(5), CSS and the two huge bloated languages that are Javascript and PHP) and always be up to date, cuz its the front end, right?

Isn't Android the same? What about iOS? Swift just came out, so not many people know it. But I don't know how much ObjC I need.

And what about Java Enterprise Edition?

> Survey says: Almost a third of U.S. consumers on Windows 10

> About 30% of the survey's respondents who confirmed they had a Windows PC said they were running Windows 10, compared to approximately 27% who tapped Windows 8 and 28% who named Windows 7.

> Windows 10's user satisfaction was impressively high: Of those who said they have the new operating system, just over 60% picked "favorable" or "very favorable" when asked their take.

> About 1 in 10 said Windows 10 had left an "unfavorable" or "very unfavorable" impression.

Again debatable.
You also haven't taken OS X into consideration.
