Fingerprinting thread begin
https://browserprint.info/
http://panopticlick.eff.org/
Remember, kids, disabling JavaScript is cheating, since many sites require JavaScript to work and fingerprinting code can be included in that mandatory JavaScript.

A blog post about fingerprinting users instead of browsers and devices, could there be a future in this?
https://browserprint.info/blog/userFingerprinting

Some kind anon many threads before posted a link to a story that indicates Google is injecting fingerprint code into their CAPTCHAs.
https://archive.is/9K5gs
This means that the majority of 4chan users could be being fingerprinted, and Google might know about your shitposting habits.
To fix this you can get a pass (which allows you to be tracked by 4chan in a different way), or you can trust the 4chan X extension and use that to run 4chan with all JavaScript disabled.

Daily reminder to do all your Facebook / Youtube / LinkedIn / botnet shit in a completely separate browser to your Googling or buying shit.
It's currently the ONLY way to truly defend against fingerprint tracking.
Double points if you have each browser running in a different VM with a different OS.
Triple points if you have each browser's VM configured with a different VPN.
The Tor Browser Bundle is still susceptible to many fingerprinting attacks that can uncover your true OS and browser.
Spoofing your user-agent is counterproductive unless you use a different user-agent for every site, even if you rotate them every x HTTP requests.

If your goal is to avoid fingerprinting, then you want your browser to appear as the most common configuration possible. It all looks like sound advice to me.

I wrapped my Libreboot x200 in tin foil to keep the NSA from reading my files. I cut out openings for my GNU sticker and ThinkPad logo so people at my university can see that I support the GNU project and have a fine taste in hardware.

I'm concerned that the NSA's radio surveillance technology will be able to find its way into my laptop though these openings. Am I good to go, or should I make covers that I can remove when I want to show off?

I have to sort a singly linked list composed of words from the entirety of War and Peace. My sorting algorithm works but I need to do the sort in under 20 seconds and I am nowhere close to it. Can anyone give me any hints?

If you absolutely have to use a linked list, you might consider mergesort.

If you can use an array instead, then do that and use quicksort.

How come Graphic cards keep getting better but processors have seemed to reach their peak and are only getting better at a snails pace?
47 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
>>55274576
Because intel is better than gpu manufacturers at semiconducting.
>>
>>55274576
Because processors have been more focused on power efficiency in the last few years than highly improving performance. Also we're reaching the limits of what we can do on silicon.

Do any of you /g/uys build or buy and fly multirotors?

If you do show us your fleet and tell us what sort of flying you do, AP, FPV quad racing, freestyle acro or do you fly as part of your job doing inspections or something?

Personally, I brought one of these (https://bgobeyond.com/about/ of years ago and got interested enough to try building one myself.

So I built a naza quad with GPS in a hiro frame (http://www.gameofdrones.biz/shop/hiro-action-sports-airframe) I don't have any photos of thesc two because I'm not home right now.

Since then I've built a succession of smaller multirotors (pictured)for diffrent types of flying
From left to right they are for night flying, acro learing/crashing, a more portable acro/race spec quad and lastly a outdoor proximity flying/indoor quad.

p.s sorry if this is the wrong board but it seemed more appropriate than /out/ or /toy/

Always liked how your screens look on the desk, and nice big desk mat. I'm not an apple fan however, and as much as I like the feel of the original mechanical keyboards like these, I really can't get on with the layout or missing macros and basic media control etc. Lack of backlighting on them is also an issue for me as I really enjoy using my machines in total darkness.

I wish I had gone ahead and bought an official AC adapter. The SSD I got for $20 so I'm not too worried about it. Just need something to put an OS on that doesn't make any noise.

If you want a career in Windows engineering, that's it.

In most IT workplaces I've been, Macbooks or linux laptops are used. In my current and previous programming role, macbooks were provided, linux laptops you're allowed to bring, but Windows is out of the question

Is gentoo really a meme? I installed it in a VM and while some things are cool (like eselect news, the stable branch of Gentoo, etc) the compile time is taking forever when I run emerge @world.

Does anyone here actually run Gentoo as their main OS on a laptop?

2. NEETs
