First time having to replace my power supply because I think my old one fucked up, I'm temporarily testing an older 550W to make sure it's my PSU before buying a new one.

Is it ok to leave one of the slots for my graphics card open like this or do I absolutely NEED both? My old PSU had 2 vga plugs for it but this PSU has only one. Also why are my sata cables so fucked? (Next pic) thnx guise

Noted, sorry. I have to go to work soon and I didn't bother looking for a thread for it.

I just found a spare, can I plug this into the psu and to the graphics card and it'll work the same way? The Red port on the psu says it's for PCI, so I assume it works the same way

Is G-sync worth buying a $500 monitor?

also, opinions on 1920x1080 vs 2560x1440 monitors?

I apologize for this meme, you probably cannot stop laughing right now.

>>
2560x1440 is a constitutional human right in the year 2016.

also, great meme, where did you find it? x))
>>
Gsync isn't worth it. Either go for 2560×1440 or go for a 1920×1080 with 120+ hz

What's the feature you would most like to have added to Nano, or even CL text editors in general?

I'd like line numbers displayed to the left of the text.

I have been suggested by another anon to try a few different fan configurations in my case.
So far i have tried two configs. A standard back exhaust with top and front intake, as well as a rear and front intake with top exhaust.
Here are my results with testing.
the test went as follows: 1 min of idle followed by 9 mins of 100% load on GPU and 50% load on CPU (to simulate a very demanding game) followed by 5 mins of idle.
>First pic related is my battle-station so you can get an idea of the place my computer sits, the case i'm using and my speccy.

From what i can tell, i'm sacrificing GPU temps for CPU temps in the second fan config.
I would be willing to test other layouts that anons can suggest.
Here is a guts picture, take it and draw
>meme arrows
in the direction you want the fans blowing and ill test it.

I understand that all of these tests are only applicable to my exact build and configuration, but i'm
sure we can all draw a little information off of it either way.

this has always bothered me, heat always goes to the top, why do card manufacturers keep sticking the heatsinks at the botom with all the components right above it (where most of the heat will be)

So it sucks cold air and not warm air you fool
>>
Also, some do put heatsinks on the back.
>>
>>55275245
this makes more sense they should have the current bottom heatsinks at the bottom and at least another one at the top
