what's an "okay" 1080p card?
>>55283274
I am thinking about the same thing. Don't want to buy anything over-the-top until I save up the cash for a 4k monitor. I think you should wait for the rx 480, it's coming out in 2 days and it will be probably slightly better than the 380x
I use an r9 270 and it's alright. About £120 when I bought it. It doesn't do max settings or anything special, but it's also not awful.
i have an R9 290 and it's okayish for 1080p
Is Intel literally a meme?
What the fuck is this?

It's called protecting your brand, if they didn't put warnings like that they could actually lose their trademark because they didnt defend it.

There's a reason people say not to buy Lenovo unless it's a ThinkPad.
so nothin?
So my current mouse is failing me and I need a new one, what are some good dependable gaming mice? I'm looking at pic related since it's available at the nearest electronics store. But I know that Logitech is very hit and miss.
Bonus points for thumb buttons.
>>55283191
Too bad it looks like shit but it is the best mouse I've ever used so far.
>>55283191
Logitech mice are probably some of the most reliable out there. Got a wireless one I bought for 5 bucks 2 years ago on black friday.
I've had my 502 for about a year now. love it to bits. It still functions like the day i got it.
Best sensor
Best mouse wheel
Heaps of features
Comfortable
Best mouse in town.
Testing something
Ok so you CAN post things in dillo, including completing google's "click the squares" captcha and selecting an image file. That's fucking impressive.
Couldn't you have used a board like >>>/trash/ to test that out instead of pushing a useful thread off the board here?

Anyone recommending DDG is ignorant.

Searx.
DDG can use Google btw. Just add g! before the first word.
Is it worth picking up a 970 now that the 1070/80s are out? Was thinking of picking up a 1070, but they seem like overkill for 1080p.
> Was thinking of picking up a 1070, but they seem like overkill for 1080p
the 1070 is much more future proof, when games start going over 3.5gb the 970 will choke
>>55283114
That's true card I ordered.
Definitely overkill. If you can get a 970 for cheap and expect it to last a few years go for it. Otherwise, get a 1070 to future proof newer games.
RX 480
I'm planning on buying a TN monitor vs its IPS alternative mainly due to price and the "muh gaymen" pros.
While it will be used to play video games, I also plan on using it as my main movie/tv watching station. However, I've heard bad things about colors when compared to the IPS's.
Do any of you have experience with this? Is a TN monitor good enough for watching high-def movies?
I've heard TN has richer blacks.

A solid turd is better than a runny turd but they're still both shit.
>>55282996
It's the last iPhone my gf is going to have. The screen cracked from a small fall, the casing got bruised after it going into a case, and when it gets hot, the microphone stops working. It's an anecdote, by the way.
Does /g/ have any recommendations for waterproof cases for the LG G4? Otterboxes look appealing, but there but waterproof, and I'd rather keep a healthy distance away from those waterproof pouches.
>>55282895
>Trusting a case to waterproof your phone
>Not getting a phone designed to be water resistant with the necessary certifications

alright nerds listen up. i got myself a h81m-p33 microatx mobo. only 2 slots for RAM and only one PCI x slot.
should i upgrade to a better microatx board with 4 slots for ram and 2 pci x slots OR should i stop being a bitch and get a new case and a new atx board?
>>55282730
If you put 4690 or 4460 into it you are good to go untill 2020. 2x8GB RAM is enough too. Since CPU usable in this board can support 1x x16 or 2x x8 or 1x x8 and 2x x4 PCIe line setup you are good to go
well i already have all the parts for this setup... was wondering if itd be best to just get a new mobo and add 2 more sticks of ram and then get another r9 280x for crossfire
>>55282783
1. I doubt you need more than 16GB RAM i.e. 2 slots for whatever you are going to do
2. Crossfire and SLI is waste of money and performance. Get single strong GPU instead.
