What is the best programming language and why is it xcode?
i'm not familiar with it but the fact that you used a trump image tells me it's not

xcode is an ide and not a programing language
I've been running an ipod classic (7th gen 160gb) with rockbox for ages now. Use it for mp3/flac files and it's great. I'm worried the battery will eventually die, and replacing it myself looks like a bitch. Should I start looking for a future solution?
>>54508596
Why don't you use a fucking phone you autist.
You can play game/browse 4chan while you are using it.
>>54508611
I can, and do. But if I'm listening to flac, or don't want to flatten my phone I use this. What's the problem with having choices?
>>54508672
Just telling you how to save money. Maybe buy something better when the time comes.
Long story short, I'm turning this box into an htpc and just noticed it's a bit noisy. All fans are blowing outward except for the 2 at the front of the box (bottom left and right on the picture).
What am I doing wrong ?
Y.. Youre joking right?
Nope.

Jesus Christ OP..
First off next Time post on /g/, since they'll be able to help you better.
Cable management is a start, get cable ties and try to hide all your cables neatly behind your case (if you can remove the back panel). It'll take a while but it should provide better airflow. If it still makes noise, than one of your parts' fans are broken. Try and figure out which one it is and replace it
How can "drive space" even be real?
Every new cycle of technology follows the same pattern
>Oh wow its a SSD with 32 GB! It is going to cost a fortune!
>Oh look its 2 years later and its a 500 GB SSD ... It costs fucking nothing
Over and over again manufactures scam you by slowly releasing technology they already have in their basements and you fall for it!
Who here fell for the drive space meme scam?
>>54508529
I bet you vote for Bernie
>>54508614
>implying
Its not hard to figure out that the manufactures have an interest in this. It guarantees them a lot of profit over time.
What would they do if they announce that they can sell 2 TB SSDs for cheap right from the start. Consumers would just buy one and keep it.
Instead they sell them 2 TB split up into 5-7 devices over a few years and you pretty much pay the same price with every purchase.
THINK!
ok /g/, time for a new phone, where can i buy a the original Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro with lowest cost?

Can I install Arch on Apple computers?
Hey /g/
Is the mac mini worth getting?
I'm training to be a audio engineer, so I'm looking for a mac that is affordable for me..
From what I hear it's very good for the price.
I run logic and pro tools for my projects
They might refresh the Mini soon, I'd wait.
>>54508428
No, not at the moment. It's horribly outdated. You don't really need macs for audio applications though. With proper hardware it's basically the same on Windows these days.
If you still insist on working on a mac, look for used ones on ebay or in Apple's refurbished store (in case you are a student you can also get a student's refund). It's also possible to install OS X on regular hardware ("Hackintosh", google it), but I can't recommend it really. It's somewhat...

How do you stop the fear of looking at/writing a long code?
On a first year of college I had introductory programming course but a year passed when I began programming again. I'm in a third year, so it's been about a year since I really started getting more into it. The problem is that I get extreme fear and sense of pressure when I want to build something more complicated. I literally never passed 200 lines of code on my side projects. I feel like I can't do it. Looking at open sourced code often doesn't make much sense, I don't even know where...

I've never had this problem. Just think up what you want to accomplish, then start writing and adding things until you have what you wanted.
It's pretty much as writing prose. Don't fear the white page, start filling it one word at a time, eyes on your goal and adapt as you go.
Are you saying you are incapable of doing something if your first thought is "I can't do it"? Then I recommend you join the HAES movement. It's made just for you.
I can't say I relate to you, but what you generally want to do with bigger projects is to break them down into smaller parts. That is both easier to plan and better programming style because you get a more modular approach.
For your example, I'd make three "projects": one for each API and one to interconnect them. When you write the API libraries, make them completely independent from the rest of your code. They will be more reusable and maybe useful in later projects.
As for not knowing where to start in huge open source projects, that is just...

I can relate to this.
I have improved my own large projects just by implementing better planning. Everything is easier to absorb when broken down.
This is quite the same when working on public source.
Pull it, examine in and break it down. I have a whiteboard in my study for this purpose.
Put your config / cache / temp shit where your executables will end up on a client's system, or at least try to follow conventions and use appdata / registry.
For fuck sake pajeets.
>>54508258
>registry
>>54508273
Actually, you're right, don't use registry.
You're utterly incompetent, I don't want you pajeets anywhere near it.
lmao retarded linux devs
What files/programs would you put on a 8gb usb stick if those files were all you could take with you to a place that had no internet.
It doesn't have to be an 8gb usb it could be more or less.
>>54508034
>It doesn't have to be an 8gb usb it could be more or less.
Well then i just use 10TB and put all my stuff on it.
>>54508067
the usb has to actually exist and be purchasable. could you please link me to where I can purchase this 10tb usb.
I would just install the Internet.
It's under 700mb because AOL send me a disk for installing the Internet.
Unfortunately I'm working on project with php and im thinking about rewriting it in something else, it shouldnt take more than ~2 days. Any backend language that doesnt suck?
Node.js
Install gentoo, run batch scripts
I do all my shit in C#, but that's just me.
You can host it with Apache

The Xiaomi phones have a great gyro, but I think there is nothing more than 1920x1080?
So I guess you're going to go with Samsung or Sony or something...?
