Took apart a couple of old laptops and removed their HD's before doing away with the laptops themselves.

Best methods to make HD's kill?

Also pic unrelated.

A huge ass impact drill.
>>
>>54505368
disassemble them, take a hammer to the platters and keep the magnets for shit
>>
>>54505368
I usually drill through the case and platters with my drill press.

I have always wanted to make thermite though, might do that next time I have a whole bunch.

This is going to be good right? Having AMD release Vega sooner, we'll see actual compotition between Nvidia and AMD?

Waiting until October is going to be painful but fuck them for holding it back, hopefully it pushes nvidia to bring their Volta out next year and Navi from AMD sooner
>>
It's probably to try and coincide with the release of Battlefield 1, seeing how much of a relationship Dice has had with AMD in the past.
>>
I like the news but bah gawd its going to be a nightmare trying to buy one on release, just like with the Fury X.

I gave up last year because they were all out of stock and ended up with a 980ti.

So really, October is not going to mean a lot unless they can get enough stock out or its substantially superior to the 1080.

Who else collects and still uses vintage/outdated AV hardware?

>What is in your collection?
Laserdisc player and old consoles hooked up to a PVM in one corner of the room. Turntable hooked up to a shitty amp in another corner.
>What are you looking to add to it?
Currently waiting on a Pioneer sX-680 receiver and an unopened Sony MiniDisc deck I ordered.
>Where do you keep it / How do you use it?
Currently separate from all my modern equipment, but I'm contemplating ditching the PVM and getting a scaler for my HDTV or merging all of my old tech into one corner. Admittedly they don't get as much use as my modern TV but it's fun to watch shitty 90s films on LD every now and again.

>Zenith Allegro
Is that an 8-track player? Do you ever use it? I heard they have a pretty poor shelf life.

Reminder that vaping is technology

Has it already all been bought up?

It's going to be reselling for 50x what it was a few weeks ago.

People are stocking up for life.

Money to be made

is vape hardware imports dead now?
>>
>>54505218
if you want to save a couple of bucks no.

a local vape shop had a massive stock up this week though and it seems like the interest is very high on eleaf, smok, wismec and kangertech vaporizers
>>
Vaping is technology in the same way that lightbulbs are, only infinitely less interesting because it's all the same shit

>my coil, switch, and battery are better than yours
>nuh uh my coil is wound slightly tighter

Also enjoy your unregulated liquid and flavoring chemicals that haven't been studied as inhalants

maybe a stance thread on /o/ would be a better home for you

If you were to use a Computer and you needed to make the choice between a IBM/Lenovo Think brand or a HP Pro brand what would you choose. http://www.strawpoll.me/10190095 CAST YOUR VOTE HERE AND DISCUSS THE REASON YOU CHOSE THE OPTION http://www.strawpoll.me/10190095

If you are curious why I wanted you to vote for Business Desktops over Business Laptops here are a couple reasons for my choice.
>Consumer-Grade Business Laptops
This is specific to the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga and most of Dell's non-expensive Business Computers.
>No Chicklet Keyboards
Most business computers come with a non-mechanical keyboard but still are comfy on the hands. Only in a few cases does HP and Lenovo put Chicklet keyboards in Business Desktop brands.
>Business Computers receive less change over time
This one's more specific to HP rather than Lenovo especially with the 2016 refresh. A good reason I'd use the HP one would be because it does not change as fast as consumer products except for the whole G1 G2 G3 thing.

Dell.

So has anyone found the location of the actual filesystem the Windows 10 bash shell uses? I mean the actual storage of the ext4 filesystem.

does not use ext4, as far as I know it just talks right to your NTFS. You can create files on disk in winbash and they appear in windows explorer and vice versa

Why does almost every gaming laptop look like an autistic children's toy?
Yeah, I get that a large part of the market is spoiled rich kids who don't know anything about PCs,
but what about for professional contractors who have to travel pretty much 100% of their time for their careers?
Gigabyte seems to be the only brand that I know of that actually keeps their design on the down low, but I heard their reliability was questionable.
It's shocking how few options there are out there for professional looking laptops with a solid GPU.

4.8 volts, 2.2 amp hours?
try searching the numbers on it to see if one of them is a serial number.
