What the literal hell /g/. I can't be this retarded. Running it in VirtualBox off a 16GB usb stick. I get to the last step (changing the .cfg file, telling the syslinux bootloader to locate my root partition sda1 instead of sda3), exit, reboot. Instead of the appropriate menu, I'm sent back to the install prompt, where I have to write everything all over again.

Just buy a thinkpad on craigs list/gumtree, burn a live distro to a flash drive with a write lock switch, pull the hard disk, load tor onto the flash drive, flip the switch to read only and ya good.

i just want to back up some pdfs, audiobooks, Chinese cartoons, and a few movies.
I want to be able to upload from my computer and then access my files from my phone/tablet.
I keep looking into cloud services and see that every single one of them gets shitted on, with people saying how insecure they are, and how there are backdoors, blah blah blah, etc.
I can understand the concerns when it comes to things like google drive, icloud, and Dropbox. People say to absolutely stay away from it.
So i look into it more and find out about other services, such as spideroak. I then see that it's not recommended either because it's not completely open source. So not even the cloud service that Edward fucking Snowden recommends is acceptable.
What am i supposed to use?

I'm canceling my order as these fucks marketed their phone, Oneplus X, with a CPU that's very similar to the Oneplus One. Bullshit, it's a SD 801 ineed, but the AA version which is the weakest version of this CPU. This is why people are getting utter shit gaming performance and camera issues.

So I'm in the market for a new PC. Obviously I'm going to need an OS to run this thing, and frankly I don't feel like forking over an extra $100 for software I can otherwise get for free. I'm in a bit of a dilemma though. I hear that DX12 is going to be a Windows 10 exclusive, but I also hear that Win 10 has a lot of privacy breaches and such, and since I'm going to be pirating a lot of my software (shamelessly, I might add) I'm not sure if this is the best option.
Should I set my build up for Win 10 or go with the safer Win 7? How do I deal with these privacy breaches, if I can?
