Alright /g/, how bad did I fuck up
Ordered this (Beyerdynamic DT-990-Pro-250) and an amp (Monoprice 111567 Desktop Headphone Amplifier) last night and should be here tomorrow. I'm jumping straight from "gaming" headsets (my Logitech G35 finally shat the bed) to real headphones since I barely talk online anymore anyway. Pretty much using these for gaymes and music. Without checking forums for input or asking here first. How hard did I just fuck myself?
Haven't personally tried those headphones but Beyer stuff is generally pretty good. Might've been better to go for an O2 Amp + DAC instead of the Monoprice one.

I'm indecisive. Tell me what distro to install on my newish T-series chinkpad.
I've dabbled with ubuntu, debian, mint, and suse, but didn't fall in love with any of them.Mint was pretty good for simplicity and usability; suse was decent because it was so usable upon startup.
I've got 12gb of ram and a mid-tier i5 so it need not be super light, but I wouldn't mind better battery life than on windows if possible.
I'm a cs undergrad and about to start some more involved programming, if that means anything. I have no idea if there are any distros that are recommended over another for coding.

I'm running Debian on both my Thinkpad and desktop. "Unstable" on the former, "Testing" on the latter. I'm really happy with it, it's a beautiful distro. It's extremely reliable and built on a rock solid base (Stable). You have the option to enable the 'contrib' and 'non-free' sources for more software/driver options, or just leave it as it is for 100% pure free software on the main repositories.
Can I use this in a normal full tower PC?

I'm looking to get my kids a phone, so they won't fall behind technology. Want to teach them the basics of programming using PyGame or whatever people use these days. Any suggestions? No cell-phone plan, strictly Wi-Fi. What should I get?

Python and pygame is a good choice. Maybe something simpler to start out with though, like scratch

Sup, /g/. I bought a bunch of scrap computers for $100 the other day and with it came a 500gb hard drive - not formatted, windows 8 installed. I hooked it up to my PC and I'm wanting to know how to get all the info off of it I can. I already tried recovering deleted files and there was nothing useful. Any tips?
