Veracrypt might work, if you just extract it on the stick and create a container rather than encrypting the whole thing.

Now that Iceweasel has reached its EOL I'm pretty much stuck using Tor for everything (kys cloudflare) because I don't want to want to use the joogle botnet, Paleshit or SJW/Bloatfox. And Icecat hasn't been updated in over a month because who needs security, amirite?

>Today is the Electronic Frontier Foundation's day of action for its No Global Warrants campaign.
>Constituents are asked to tell their Congress persons to enact the Stop Mass Hacking Act which would block proposed DOJ rule changes to Rule 41 of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure.
>The current Rule 41 authorizes federal magistrate judges to issue warrants for law enforcement searches and seizures only if the judge has jurisdiction in the district where the search is conducted.
>The Department of Justice's changes to Rule 41 would grant any magistrate judge the ability to approve remote computer search warrants regardless of their location in cases where either "technological means" was used to conceal the location of the computer, or where botnets were used to "damage" computers in at least 5 districts.
>These changes would result in law enforcement window shopping for judges that never refuse requests and thus indiscriminate granting of search warrants without real opportunity for oversight.
>The rule changes will go into effect automically unless Congress explicitly rejects the proposals.

Why the fuck is there so much subjectivity with technology? Why is there nothing absolutely nothing that is objectively the best
product. Everything is so fucking wishy washy I ask what phone is the best on the market I get 15 answers how is this acceptable?
Why do we as consumers allow this to happen no other industry is like this. I don't understand why we don't talk in terms of specs
and compare only the specs. it's not even like cereal brands or some shit where taste comes into play
some people just actively shill products that are inferior. It's getting ridiculous. I challenge you to find an objective best
product for the following

Phone
Laptop
Monitor

You won't be able to because the consumers buy inferior products and hold back the industry

Define "best"
>>
The reason people don't talk purely in terms of specs is because most people aren't autismos. What matters is the real world performance and how it matches up to people's *subjective* expectations. Good on paper means very little to anyone really. The best laptop for most people would be the fully loaded rMBP 15" and this is reflected in the normie consensus.

Most of you claim that C and C++ is superior in compare to C# or Python.

Then if it is better and salary is higher why there is only few people doing C programming?

Do you really belive that people with 10years of C#/Java experience would not be able to code and maintain C/C++ project

?

>>
>Then if it is better and salary is higher why there is only few people doing C programming?
I think for the most part it's only useful when working with microcontrollers in embedded systems. We have to work with them a lot at school and we exclusively program them with C.
>Do you really belive that people with 10years of C#/Java experience would not be able to code and maintain C/C++ project
I don't know but I don't think I would be able to maintain a Java project no matter how much C experience I might have in the future because OOP is a complete mystery to me.
>>
>>55189873
C stands for cemetry.
The only reason they use C/C++ is that they are too lazy to write a better more modern and they are just maintaining the old world's misery.

Meh…
20 was rock solid, hence I kept running it way too long.
23 was a nightmare (but that's KDE's fault), so I am very hesistant to try 24. But then on the other hand, Suse I am currently on, is even worse, so it's not like I have anything to loose.
But from what I have heard, its always a bad idea to update in the first few weeks after release.

How is this field?

- Salary?

- Employment?

- Need a relevant degree?
6 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>55189828
1-Depending on the actual job but usually really good
2-Depends on the country you are coming from
3-Also depending on the country. In austria its really easy to get a job as processautomation guy. But as always learn more and you will get better positions at the company.
4-Not asked (what Plc should i learn on programming?) depends on the country. USA uses often Allen Bradley Plc's and Europe has a lot of Siemens Simatic S5 and S7 Plc's. t.Austrian processautomation guy
>>
>>55189828
I used to work designing Industrial process control systems. My company specialized in solenoid valves, pneumatic actuators, and flow control valves.

Sales in this field can be fairly lucrative. I belive the operators and engineers made at least 60k/year here in California.

You shouldn't have a tough time getting into the field as long as you have some experience dealing with technical things and a passion for fluid dynamics.

The degree depends on what you want to do. If you do what I did, you don't need a degree, but you do need to pay a lot of attention to detail.
