Why do Windows users still allow microsoft to fuck them in the ass?
I mean, just look at the inherent driver problem windows has:
- company makes a printer
- company releases driver for the current windows version
- new windows version comes out
- microsoft forces you to update
- printer is now useless
How is this still acceptable? And then there is the constant rebooting. And an antivirus scanner is practically mandatory. And the registry. I mean, come on, it's 2016. And then you have to deal with your system literally getting slower the longer you use it????
Why do windows users continue to buy this crap?
Because it's still better than any Linux distro.
>>55180729
yeah i'm kind of a glass half full type of guy, i don't worry about petty shit like that.

What do you use and do you like it?
I use a g100s and it's okay, I'd like to upgrade soon though.

Its 2016. Literally any mouse works. Inputphiles are only slightly better than audiophiles.

I've come to the sudden realization that this is true to some degree and have been wasting my time scrolling through specs for no reason.... thanks.

I hate wires, to the point where
- I intentionally use a wireless keyboard and mouse
- I use the shitty speakers built into my display so that a single HDMI cord can over both video and audio
- I use WiFi despite the ethernet jack being less than four feet away

Other business laptops are also welcome in /tpg/ (e.g. Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook).
----
If you're looking for purchase advice, READ THE BUYERS GUIDE FIRST. Then post, stating budget and requirements (e.g. size and performance).
Don't buy anything OTHER THAN T, X AND W/P SERIES if you want the Real ThinkPad Experience™
Recommended models:
T420 - 14", normal size
X220 - 12.5", ultraportable
----
Why ThinkPad? (also applies to other business laptops)
>Used machines are plentiful and cheap.
>Excellent keyboards - tactile feel and quiet.
>Great durability: chassis uses a magnesium rollcage for structural integrity, with high quality plastic body panels.
>Utilitarian design: e.g. indicator LEDs, 7 row keyboard layout on older models.
>Docking stations that easily turns your laptop into a desktop.
>Easy to repair, upgrade and maintain thanks to readily available service manuals for every model. Spare parts are easy and cheap to obtain.
>The best trackpoint (that red thing in the middle of the keyboard). Great for those who type a lot or hate swiping their fingers all over a touchpad.
>Excellent GNU/Linux & *BSD support.

My t530 is making weird electrical noises, like a pulsating sound. One anon said it was a faulty capacitor, so I started taking apart me thinkpad and some of the screws are stuck. I asked some guys and they said that I can cut it off, which doesn't seem to be viable. I also can heat the screw up as it's in the thinkpad. What do?

I am also looking for a $100-200 DAC/Amp to go along with my first real headphone purchase because my motherboard has an incredibly shitty internal one. Help very much appreciated. I am thinking about getting the O2s on Massdrop, thoughts?
>Preferred type of headphone
Full-sized over ears,
>Open or closed
I am fine either way but i prefer the soundstage open headphones offer. Keep in mind I don't want them to be as open as something like Grados because I sit right next to my door and I don't want my roommates hearing my tentacle rape hentai.
>Comfort level
I want headphones that I can wear for 24 hours in 115° F weather without noticing they are on. Keep in mind I am a VERY sweaty person with long hair.
>Preferred tonal balance
As neutral as you can get.
>Preferred music
I listen to podcasts, movies, videos, TV shows, anime, and my friends more than I do music. As for music I listen to almost everything equally with a slight preference for hip-hop, female vocals, and bassy electronic.
>Past headphones
Shitty apple EarPods.
=====
I have been eyeing the Sennheiser HD 598 SEs they are only $150 on amazon right now so they are probably what I am going to pick up.
Many thanks in advance.
