OpenGL isn't free software. As far as I know most the implementations, except Mesa, are proprietary.

There have been innovations in free software, namely file systems and networking stacks. At least the last two Sony consoles have used BSD networking stacks.

Laughable.

Many people who write FOSS are paid. There are many companies that invest heavily in FOSS. The biggest contributors to Linux are large corporations.

There is a huge amount of high-quality FOSS. Gimp is not an example, but there are many cases where FOSS crushes anything proprietary. For example: web browsers, media players, kernels, and filesystems.

I'm struggling with nested loops in Python.

So say I want to:

Design a program that uses nested loops to collect data and calculate the average rainfall over a period of years. The program should first ask for the number of years. The outer-loop will iterate once for each year. The inner loop will iterate twelve times, once for each month. Each iteration of the inner loop will ask the user for the inches of rainfall for that month.
After all iterations, the program should display the number of months, the total inches of rainfall, and the average rainfall per month for the entire period.

Now, I'm not asking you to do this for me. What I'm struggling with is how to set this up.

From what I understand I need to make 'years' a variable like

years = int(input('Type the number of years:')

and then use a for loop like:

for num in range(years):
rainfall = int(input('Enter the amount of rainfall for this month'))

right? Do I make a list containing each month? What is the nested loop going to look like inside?

Post mobo model.

I don't have a CD drive or any USB sticks. How the hell would I install Windows 10's install onto my second SATA hard drive so I can make a Windows 10 installation on my third SATA drive?

Right now I'm running Windows 7 on my first SATA drive but it's an illegit copy so upgrades aren't working.

Or, y'know, whatever. I've been trying to figure this out for hours.

If almost every problem you have is unique, especially if you are still in school, you are either a genius or a moron.

Could you give us examples OP?

you don't have any unique problems kid, your problems can be reworded numerous different ways to find the result.

Errors like "Argument 1 of WebGLRenderingContext.compileShader does not implement interface WebGLShader".
Even if you just look up "does not implement interface WebGLShader", the only results you'll find two crash reports for the same site that report a significantly different error.

Also weird hardware stuff like a specific Gmod server having caused a graphics card malfunction (which lasted even into the next computer reboot) the first time I tried it, and POST failure the next time I tried it.

And I can't find any stuff along the lines of computers requiring occasional CMOS resets when they spontaneously fail POST giving a beep pattern reserved for CPU death, or computers always corrupting system data no matter how recently I fixed it.

Can someone give me an idea of relative performance of RX 480 vs 780 Ti? I have the option to buy another 780 Ti SLI for $200 or I can just buy a RX480 and then crossfire that or even just sell it for the 490 later on.

Thanks /g/ents!
8 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
As of now the RX 480 performance is between the 390X and the 980, since they are around 10% to 20% better then a 780ti, one can conclude the RX 480 performs around 15% better than a 780ti
>>
>>55198540
780ti ~= 970

480 = 970-980 level, matching close to 1070 with OC in DX12.
>>
>>55198828
>>55198916
Thanks for the input guys, even if its just napkin math I do appreciate it.

Perhaps I'll just the RX 480 instead of another 780 Ti. Not to mention the power consumption and heat differences alone...

1. Don't get a z170 motherboard if you're not getting a "K" CPU
2. Don't get an aftermarket cooler if you're not getting a "K" CPU
3. Don't get a 970 now, wait 1 week and get an RX 480, it is cheaper and performs like a 980
4. Don't buy Windows, pirate it
5. Get an SSD

http://pcpartpicker.com/list/J7gD3F
The GTX 960 is a placeholder, that's what the RX 480 is gonna cost
>>
>>55198661
This, and you should always spend the ~$30 extra and get anything other than msi

the reolink software is fine if you don't have very high standards and they even have their own NVR so you wouldn't need an old computer and the POE switch since it has one built one.
their 8 channel NVR with a 2TB HDD is $300 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0179JRV24/

the cameras are mechanically sound except you'll have to terminate your own ethernet cables if you want to use their waterproof attachment. If you don't need the quality from a 4mp camera you can just get whatever cheap swann set is on sale from best buy
