What does /g/ use for a security camera? I was thinking of using a webcam and an old laptop with motion installed.

the reolink software is fine if you don't have very high standards and they even have their own NVR so you wouldn't need an old computer and the POE switch since it has one built one.

the cameras are mechanically sound except you'll have to terminate your own ethernet cables if you want to use their waterproof attachment. If you don't need the quality from a 4mp camera you can just get whatever cheap swann set is on sale from best buy
