Hey /g/. Need advice.
I got a shitton of servers from a company. I'm trying to fix an IBM System X3200 m2, but i'm out of compatible ddr2.
What the hell, i rip some out of a similar x3600. AND THIS IS WHAT I GOT.
It's the one with the heatsink, and it doesn't fit ddr2.
The datasheet clearly says it's ddr2, what the fuck of a nonstandard dimm is that?

It's incredibly simple. The most difficult thing about pointers would be function pointers imo because the C-syntax for function pointer types is a little bit weird imo. It makes sense, but it's just different from everything else.

Applying pointers is just about pointing at shit and dereferencing them.
>>54665655
>Memes
I'm genuinely perplexed by the idea that you'd name a book like that. If your goal is to teach how to handle data in a program that's a broader topic than pointers.
>>54665670
Yeah. If you're just dealing with your own codebase. I also turn it off unless I'm using something new. If you're learning a new library (the way I learn to use libraries anyway) it's useful because it's like a mini-documentation/typing assistance.

I've found that internet providers that provide service over phone lines haven't adopted any bandwidth cap policies yet. I hope that the trend continues with something like this developing =

http://money.cnn.com/2016/05/16/technology/gfast-internet-speeds/index.html?sr=cnnmoneybin052116gfast-internet-speeds0900story

How do you guys think ping will be though this? Will this be available sooner than fiber in most areas?

What kind of shithole country do you live in? Hell in my eastern european slavic shithole I get 10MB/s up/down without any cap for 20€/month.
>>
>>54666316
the states. i moved away from the secluded south where the internet was slow but not capped to larger cities and they have higher speeds but low bandwidth caps. Ping is about the same acutally, i would rather trade off the faster speed for my unlimited data. I liked DSL much more than this cable internet i have now. We spend $50 a month split between 4 people 350GB total each month divided. They also discontinue service without notice for copyright complaints sent to them, they've done this twice now. (it was my fault for forgetting to switch the VPN on)

I love how AMDcucks never learn and are getting their hopes up again. This is how it goes EVERY time
>nvidia release GPU that's faster than anything else at a premium price point
>b-buh j-just wait for [new AMD architecture/card]
>nvidia keep selling their premium priced stuff to early adopter-fags making boatloads of cash
>AMD announces their new architecture, it performs roughly equal but is cheaper
>s-see, I t-told you guys! AMD always wins!
>one week after the announcement nvidia cuts their price to match AMD and announce a new card that will rape the new AMD cards
>b-buh j-just wait for [new AMD architecture/card]
>nvidia use aforementioned boatloads of cash to stay ahead in the development race

Dude, look how fast technology is developing >*proceeds to fly on a an airplane developed in the 60s*
>*drives car using gasoline engine developed in the 1890s*
>*proceeds to take take painkiller or anti-cold medicine developed in the 19th century*
>*proceeds to build house using bricks, wood, concrete and metal through methods perfected and unprogressed since victorian times*
>* massively gets electricity from coal plants developed in the 50s*

Why are computers considered "all technology" today?
23 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
>>54665274
Because the next big discovery for humanity is not going to be a new material to build houses out of, its not going to be some new method of transportation. its going to be (and some would argue it already is) about using computers to do stuff for us.

One example if food preparation. 50 years ago people used to spend more time preparing food and because of this they ate healthier. you cant eat 5000 Calories in one sitting if you're responsible for cooking all of those calories. now, for humans to get healthier we wont go back to actually spending more time to cooking. we will use technology to find a way to do it for us. Food printers or simply automation of healthier food prep.

Thats just one example. we already know how to build strong buildings, we already know how to get from A to B in a quick and efficient way. the only reason we are still using coal is because it is cheap.
>>
no need to reinvent the wheel
>>
>>54665393
>the only reason we are still using coal is because it is cheap.
And because the coal companies have a strong interest in keeping things that way.
