How bright and what budget
The $5 or so ones tend to all be much of a muchness, which is to say they are extremely bright for any sort of normie purposes (even more so when paired up with an 18650 battery) and represent phenomenal value. Just pick the one that has the form-factor/looks which appeals to you most.
If you're after something bright enough for you to shine on the ISS as it passes overhead to dazzle its driver then you probably don't want to get a $5 torch from Ali

Buy one of the convoy lights. Check the flashlight wiki to see which LED bin is the brightest.
If you want a sore bright flash light that is super bright (like a spotlight), you could make a huge torch using a 100 watt LED you can buy on aliexpress or eBay.

Gearbest is shit. Don't be surprised if the tracking number takes a week to a month to activate. The only reason anyone uses them is because of the cakebux thing months ago.
Prior to that, everyone avoided them because they take forever to "process" your order. I've heard of over a month processing time. It's suspected that the item is out of stock but they dont want to lose a sale so they'll make you wait for shipping until they re-up, even though you've already paid.
They're getting better, but a week is typical, especially if you have multiple items.

Fair enough, I bought a cheap $5 one for when stumbling back from country pubs at night, and was sufficiently impressed that I've bought several more to give to family members for the same purpose and one which lives under my motorcycle seat for emergencies.

Dirty reviews guy here. No its not too bad of a choice but another anon suggested an AIO Joyetech one as an upgrade, cost me like 12 USD which is reasonable. Currently its in shipping and I will do a full review of it. As for the flavors, I'm not sure how harmful the Chinese ones are but I tend to mix my own liquids. I Purchased some Glycerine from the local chemist and I proceeded to mix it with premade liquids and flavors, it does the job and feels good. The Chinese ones tend to be 50/50 Propylene Glycol/Glycerine , Propylene Glycol tends to cause eye irritation and gives that "cigarette like" burning sensation in the throat which I dislike since I'm used to Narghila or Shisha's as others know them, they are much softer with close to no burning sensation. Therefore I suggest you buy some Glycerine (100% or Above 80% mixed with pure water) and dilute the E-liquids both to stay healthier and to have more liquid for the money. Anyway I hope I could be of help! I will upload a tonne of videos soon so stay tuned /csg/.

Not at all, 1gb is fully usable and 16gb sure isn't enough for normal PC use but still usable for some things.

they both mount my network drive too, so they have about 5TB of network storage which is nice.
the stock firmware is just OpenWRT, plus their chinese interface and LuCI, it supports VPNs, USB web cams, USB 3G/4G modems, and tons of other cool stuff.
they are virtually impossible to brick, because the bootloader has a recovery mode that opens a web server.

plus it has UART, so if you fuck up the bootloader in some ungodly kind of way, you can reflash it via UART as well, or TFTP.
they're great for traveling too, they can be powered by USB battery banks for a pretty long period of time. 30 hours on the white one, 15 hours on the blue one.
the white one has 64MB RAM and 180MHz, and the blue one has 128MB of RAM and 580MHz CPU.
