Hey /g/,
is it possible to install the same OS on two computers and keep them synced when needed (meaning that when I'm done working on Computer 1, I use some script that does the work to update Computer 2, no need to check every second, especially since both computers would not be connected to each other every time).
I've thought of two things, like using an external disk (at the cost of speed/limited number of writes, having to travel with again another peripheral...), or copy-pasting manually (at the cost of time, and it would only sync the important documents, not the whole system), but neither looks very good.
My questions then: is it possible, and if so, what's the best method to do it that would require next to no effort? Would rsync be good for that, and would Computer 2 work exactly like Computer 1 if I rsync'd from 1 to 2, including programs and all that? For the sake of simplicity, I intend to use whatever linux distro, and of course the same one across the two (and maybe more?) computers.
tl;dr want to have two mirrored computers, how do?

Why wouldn't you just sync your working folder? Why do you need an entire OS cloned?

Sync your documents, or just have a server that is always on and remote to it from computer 1 and 2 instead.

das mainboard passt nicht ins gehäuse, der spec-m2 unterstützt nur bis matx
eine gtx 770 ernsthaft, du musst bei nvidia auf aktuelle architekturen greifen da ältere karten immer mehr leistung verlieren da deren treiber optimierung immer nur auf die neuste architektur, pascal in diesem fall, an priorität hat und die alten karten einfach immer langsamer werden, das ist fakt und es gibt genug benchmark wo die relative performance genau das aufzeigen das eine gtx 770 mit einer hd 7970 konkurrierte und heute auf dem niveau einer hd 7870 liegt
der cpu kühler ist überflüssig, hol lieber was von arctic für 12 euro oder weniger, von mir aus auch gebraucht.
ansonsten kann man noch viel mehr geld sparen wenn man sich nen intel xeon 1231v3 auf ebay-kleinanzeigen (190€ momentan) kauft und du zusiehst noch irgendwo ein vernünftiges h97 1150 mainboard zu bekommen. kann natürlich auch gebraucht sein.
grundsätzlich würde ich dir raten bis dahin eineamd radeon rx480 zu kaufen anstelle von nvidia da die pascal architektur nicht so zukunftsfähig ist wie amd's polaris architektur

If I check the last modification time of a file in Python, move the file to another hard drive with the same file system and check the time again, it returns a different value.

I want to upgrade my PC. Please suggest what i should replace in my setup.
I want it to run Photoshop as fast as possible. Open big PSDs with many layers.
Also maya, zbrush. 3D modeling and sculpting programms. And i also keep 10-20 chrome tabs always open. I don't really use it for anything else. Games are not important.

I guess i should replace memory and hard drive, but should i also change the motherboard for it? I also have no idea how to check compatibility when choosing parts. If you guys could suggest something that would be great.

Oi /g/, I need a little bit of advice here. Will this fan setup work reasonably well?
Case is a Prodigy M so there's barely any space. Pic is FRONT view, purple denotes fan air direction, light grey overall expected airflow in the case.
Currently I have both of the case fans set up as outtake and when I play muh vidya, the HDDs heat up towards 50 degrees C, which is obviously unacceptable.
I'm not worried about cooling the CPU/GPU because they have enough of their own fans and even then, they can take a lot of abuse without any degradation.

Are there any Digital Audio Workstations (DAW) that are on the windows platform AND optimized for touch? So I can use software on a Windows based tablet.
I like the idea of working on music on the go however i don't want to get into using an iPad.

What went wrong? They were a giant until very recently.
Capitalism kicked in - they weren't producing enough products that were good, so now they're gone.
My family always bought SONY. A lot of our friends also bought a lot SONY products. They still make good products but their TV's dropped in quality. Just because of that people look at other SONY products and they won't mess with it.
ps3, vita and shitty tvs hurt them significantly. Vaio had to be sold off because it was burning money. They haven't made a highly profitable movie since spider-man 3. They also were holding on to the idea that their products premium quality and thus required higher prices than the competition (which is actually mostly true but it didn't matter when samshit would undercut them at every opportunity and the average boomer just wanted the cheapest tv).
Though since the ps4 they've been making a strong recovery (stock price has tripled since 2012). Their Japanese life insurance and music divisions have always worked as a crutch and their audio hardware is among the best for consumer grade.
