So I ordered an iPhone 6s plus from tmobile because black friday week sales made it the same price as a 6s. It was delivered today but I'm thinking of sending it back. You see I've only used android phones and feel like I would miss certain features like Google voice search, Google Music, photosphere, and of course the onscreen navigation bar. Has anyone else found themselves in this predicament? Please help me out here, reviews online don't help.
If I return this phone I'm definitely getting the nexus 6p instead because my galaxy s3's lag is...

Thanks for the info on the street view app.
I'm binge reading articles comparing marshmallow to ios 9.1 and most are leaning towards marshmallow as superior...God damnit I should be studying for finals.

If Android is so superior then why the fuck doesn't it even have notification badges for its apps by default?
Because it's well designed enough to keep all the notification in the top bar instead of across several homepages.

the cost of a call costs 7 dollars up until 3 minutes, then after each minute, the cost goes up 0.25. How would i go about making this a function ? Use C as cost and L as length.
C=|0.25(L-3)|+7
L can only be a whole number

Help 4channers I am a technology person and love technology and am surrounding myself with as much as I can ghost in the shell style. I am looking to have the best experience room to room as I am disabled and pretty much living from bed rest to the kitchen and living room
Anyways, lately I have been trying to fulfill my depressing life with the flow of technology. I am not the fanciest person but small pieces of technology here and there make me a happy person.
Right now my computer is pretty much top of the line. I am on a Windows 10 i7 3.5GHZ 8 GB RAM GTX 980 Ti. In the living room I have a LG Smart TV which is 4K and also purchased an XBOX ONE last week (mostly for Windows 10 streaming, and also mostly for Rise of the Tomb raider!).
I have a very high end Samsung tablet which I can do anything a tablet needs to do. Stream to the TV? Stream to the PC? (No, no wireless on the PC), use bluetooth for music and other things.
There was a sale at Best Buy last week I got some Sony bluetooth headphones for $99.99 and they sound absolutely stellar. After this I went and purchased a Sony bluetooth speaker that thumps incredibly loud for only 99.99 (the Sony X33 model!).
So, I have an iphone, 4k tv, xbox one, top of the line gaming pc with incredible PC speakers, top of the line android tablet, Sony bluetooth headphones, Sony bluetooth speaker (to take to the bathroom, and to the kitchen when I have the strength to leave my room).
I am on a "pain patch", Oxycontin, as well as percocet because of the disability and pain from the multiple surgeries. I cant get much farther than my room so I am basically giving myself all the high end sound available and my PC is very good. I went to best buy today and there was nothing I could think of that I could use! I seem to have everything a disabled person needs to enjoy all of these pieces of technology. Any other suggestions for technology that would benefit a disabled person? My quality of life is low.
oh and it said I typed too much ... my disability doubtful will go away I have a chronic health disorder. I wish I could go exercise and go out and get a "real life" but this isjust now that I lost my job my friends my girl my everything so I am starting over but living with family while I get healthy.
As much as I am sure someone will say "why dont you go outside" because I cant.
I'm going to need a tl;dr version. I'm not going to read your blog, just ask your question.

I am disabled and have a hard time getting around my house due to severe pain. I am not allowed to drive or leave the house for the most part so I am bed ridden but dont want to spend all my time cooped up in my room. I am looking for technology that would benefit me such as bluetooth speakers since I purchased headphone and speakers that work wonders for my mood since I have no friends or people to talk to. I am looking for any technology that would help someone in my situation so I can enjoy things a little bit...

What are your thoughts HEVC x265? Do you think it'll have any success? Does it look good? What are the possible applications for it?
pic is a screenshot from an HEVC download
Absolutely needed for over 1080p since H.264 just doesn't have the tools to encode it efficiently. Still has a way to go to match x264 at transparency since it can take more bitrate to get an x265 encode looking as good as an x264 one, but I believe at lower bitrates x265 has an edge.
Pretty pointless at the moment unless you're doing something that requires bitrate starving the source, like web streaming.
>>51768036
As it stands I can see it having a use for those who just want a smaller filesize. It can be useful in pirating. There's plenty of torrents already that have been encoded this way.
A better solution would be if one of the world's superpower could improve their internet speeds to the modern era. Honestly a lot of compression needs for streaming lies on the fact that most people have a connection that is worse than South Korea's. You think Netflix would be worrying too much about compression if the average user could grab 30 gigs in no problem?
New El Capitan is out guys! Ultimate performance and stability for everyone!

Wasn't sure if this belongs on here or /v/, but my Intellimouse 1.1 just kicked the bucket from a dead laser after all these years, and I need a replacement.
The problem is that I only have a budget of ~$30 since I bought a bunch of other shit for the holidays and I can't just go ahead and buy the Intellimouse 3 like I originally planned until maybe next year.
I saw this on amazon and while I like the overall shape I'm unfamiliar with the brand. Is it decent or should I hold out for something else?

Closest thing to a 30€ intellimouse

My brother has it, and it's okay, it's certainly not amazing though. It feels a bit cheap compared to a deathadder or something. it also drags a bit more than my deathadder.
But he has had it for 6 months and it still works, so i guess there is that.
I'm absolutely sick of using Windows 10.
I want to move to Linux but I'm stuck on deciding which distro. I tried installing Debian but it took ages to install and ran real slow afterwards. Linux Mint apparently runs outdated packages. So I'm basically down to Fedora or Ubuntu (Definitely not with unity)
When I used Ubuntu, there were bugs everywhere.
Then I switched to Fedora. And there were still bugs.
So then I bought a Mac, and installed Ubuntu on it, and there are no more bugs.

>So then I bought a Mac, and installed Ubuntu on it, and there are no more bugs.
wat
"outdated packages" is a meme.
If you can't list the exact reasons why you need a newer package, you don't need it. It's really only relevant if you're a meme web developer or something using a language invented yesterday.
Direct correlation between "bleeding edge packages" and "my x broke on update LINUX SUCKS"
