OS X is a UNIX with a nice coat of paint. Get under the hood and you'll find that everything you want is there. Bash, nano, Vim, etc.

Because its locked down and takes alot of effort to bring it back to "full distro" status.
/g/ also hates apple.
Its just like chromebooks, the os is based on gentoo but it takes a very long time and alot of effort to get everything gentoo normally needs, such as proper libraries and directories, and a full install of portage.
And /g/ hates google.
Its a good operating system, i liked the iMacs my highschool had, they were nice to use, OSX feels friendly. Then again i wasnt trying to do anything more than use a few adobe programs and dick around in google earth.

I still have CS2014 student version but I will continue to receive updates until 2017. As far as I can tell the only difference between 2014 and 2016 is the interface and mobile support but security is the same. Im good for next 2 years.
