As an IT student I've never seen anything like this before.
Basically, whenever I boot up my laptop, my computer will turn on as well. This always happens, and even happened twice when I was in another god damn city.
Both have windows 8 and they're both logged into the same account.
I always turn off windows using the regular shutdown feature, I don't have ANY software on my computer or laptop that could do something like this.
Riddle me this /g/ I don't know who else to ask. I've been having this problem ever since I installed...

I could install arch, but I actually need to do work on my computer, I can't spend endless hours setting it up. I want to use Xfce because it's lightweight and customizable, bit I want a decent distro with things setup out of the box. I know this might be hard to understand for /g/, but I don't want to spend hours configuring every little thing, I want it to just werk. But no major distro ships Xfce as a primary DE it seems. I tried the Fedora 23 Xfce spin, and it was buggy, and I can't be bothered configuring...

You can download it on anything, but it's preloaded on Xubuntu, openSuse has one, Debian, Mint has one, most popular distros have a pre-configured xfce version. Really though, 'best distro for xfce' is like asking 'best distro for libre office', it doesn't matter.

Nim is a fucking meme. I spent months on a huge project only to have the compiler update once and now it segfaults and I can't fucking figure out why. If you were considering using this piece of shit, stay away for a few more years until it stops being one. (And I have low hopes of this happening.)

I come from a third world, and I never saw students using laptops during lectures, so can you explain why would a student need a laptop with small resolution to make presentations and weak performances for CAD software?
To take notes during lectures? Doesn't seem viable, since there's no enough time to draw all those sketches and diagrams on laptop, so why would you carry it?
