Is this still accurate /g/?
>>
>>52543630
Yes, mostly.
Some classifications will always be subjective but for a general review it is ok.
>>
>>52543630
There is a newer version of that chart.
>>
>>52543686
Do you have it?

Unfortunately I don't think so.
>>
>>52544431
There is a version that includes a third branch in the first question.
>>
>>52544545
>>52544487
Well, with the version i posted i should install Fedora/Debian
>>
>>52544654
Give Trisquel a chance.
It is very good.
fsf endorsed.
The maintainers do a lot of shit for impaired users (consider donating).

>also Spanish distro
>>
>>52544714
I think I will try it in VBox
>>
>>52543630
I care about freedom and because of that I explicitly avoid Trisquel, Parabola, Debian, Fedora, etc. Explain that, out-of-date flowchart.
>>
>>52544902
Trisquel, Parabola and Debian do not include proprietary software and firmware due to ideological reasons.

Fedora does include nonfree firmware just fine but cannot include nonfree software due to retarded american patent laws.

There's a fat fucking difference between these two mate.
>>
>>52544929
>>52544902
I care about freedom, what sould I go for?
>>
>>52544929
I know. I avoid all of them because I consider poorly designed, bloated software to be harmful to my freedom.

>>52544943
Good question. Depends how exactly you care about your freedom. The answer could be anywhere from Trisquel to Funtoo to NetBSD.

It's not I like anything to hide, but openBSD/Tails seem the best option right now.
Just don't know if I am crazy enough for BSD yet.
>>
>>52544929
Wait what, what's that about Fedora and US Patent laws?

What's so crazy about BSD? Just install OpenBSD and use it like you would with any OS. Read the docs when you don't know what to do. If you can use slackware/arch/gen2/debian_netinstall you should be fine with OpenBSD. It even comes with xorg if you want it to.

I have found a thing in the archives. Not versioned, but from march last year, apparently.
>>
>>52545083
Basically
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Forbidden_items

Fedora is developed by "Fedora Project" which is "owned" and funded by Redhat. And because RH is an American company they have to comply with American laws.
Also the fact that RH uses Fedora releases as a base for RHEL might contribute to this.

That's why fedora project endorses 3rd party repositories (mainly rpmfusion free and nonfree) to the point where they are considered a necessity and enabling them is the first thing you should do after installation.
>>
>>52545246
BSD seems difficult, but it probably is easy, I just need to keep track.

>>52545251
That got me more confused in what to choose, but thank you,
