I have a gtx 760 that only works with one my two CPUs, but the CPU that doesn't work with it works perfectly with any other GPU I pair with it. How is this even possible?

I have two builds. One with an i7 3770 with a gtx 970. The other one has an i3 2120 with a radeon 6850.
The i7 3770 works with any gpu I throw at it, yet the i3 works with the 6850, the GTX 970 but not the GTX 760.
At the beginning I thought it was a motherboard problem, so I bought a brand new one and nope, got nothing. Then I switched out the PSU for a brand new one as well and nothing again, so that leaves only the CPU.
I simply cannot understand why this is happening. Never seen something like it.
I was gonna gift the i3+760 to a poor friend but the thing refuses to work together. The fan turns on and everything but I never get any image whatsoever.
Do you /g/uys (.../g/als) vet PC builds?

99.9% of all $600-1200 builds are identical, if you can't figure out if a cpu, mobo and ram are compatible (the ONLY compatibility issues you'll face) or how much power you'll need you probably shouldn't be building a pc because you can't do the 30 minutes of research it takes

In the end you know what you really want and what you'd be happy with. You most likely have a few things that you're going overkill on, that's generally the most common issue people make, but again you feel as though you really need that 6700k and not a 6700 and definitely not a 6600, right?
Just buy what you're happy with, those 200 bucks saved probably aren't worth you stressing over how you're getting 54FPS in your video game and it's all the fault of those damn internet fuckers you know it is.
If requesting purchasing advice, please provide your country and what carrier you will be using it with, along with wanted features, budget and size.
