Finally switched to linux /gee and as far as I can say, I am loving it right now. I had to leave my gui and eye candy from windows behind but I hope its for the best since now I can do more work and jerk off less to eye candy. I guess I will have to leave my gayming behind, maybe i'll get laid more now.
Welcome to the Linux hellhole.
>Trust me, you'll probably spend some time ricing your distro for more eye candy in some time.
>Steam has thousands of native Linux games for you to choose from.
>You won't be more appealing because you use Linux. For most people, you'll seem less appealing.
So yeah. Linux is pretty great.
I'd just like to interject for moment. What you're refering to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today...

got this off of someone for $100 used. ew270u projector by mitsubishi, 2600 lumens , 720p
specs here
http://www.projectorcentral.com/Mitsubishi-EW270U.htm
Did i get ripped or? I was either thinking this or the no name brand projectors on amazon. Hopefully I made the right choice. Man I can see how big of a difference watching a movie or playing a game vs movie, the immersion is off the hook, especially for movies, you see things you normally wouldnt with even a 60 inch led screen.
see door on right side to see scale. This things a beast.
pic related.
it's much sharper than it shows but camera cant pick it up that well.
Sounds like a pretty sweet deal as long as the bulb doesn't burn out.
do you know how many hours are on the bulb? some projectors will show it in settings
either way not a bad buy, $100 for 2600 lumens is pretty great
my pro8100 for home use needs a new bulb but sitting on a christie lx380 that I use for VJing/projection mapping

Anybody remember this thing? They actually turned it into a full fork of ublock origin so it works properly now.
My question is if you use this, how can moralfags possibly object to ad blocking? They can't use the DEPRIVING POOR CONTENT CREATORS OF REVENUE argument since this makes it so ad blocking only hurts the ad jews. And even better, they have no idea who's using this so they can't threaten to pull their ads or some bullshit like that.
>>55132497
This looks like fun
Does it still block ads (as in not showing them)? I never saw anything about that here
>>55132646
yeah it blocks ads from being shown while simultaneously clicking every single one
lol no thanks I'll just block the ads and not waste 100% cpu on clicking them so 1000 popups appear and then have all my data sent to a botnet

Why should I learn C++?
>Tell me one or more reasons why
>>55132415
Only if you wanna make AAA games. For everything else it's not worth it.
C++ is a shit language. Efficient but shitty.

why does a hardware not install its drivers by itself like mouse or portable hdds? is it too hard for the hardware makers to include drivers for pc os'es in their products instead of making people waste their time?
That's not how hardware works anon
>>55132352
The mouse and the hdd are not the one installing drivers, Windows is installing generic drivers for them.
When a Windows version is made by MS it includes many basic drivers according to hardware prevalent at that times. So MANY generic drivers are included.
Like win10 already has usb3 driver built in unlike win7.
Some drivers are simple to include in windows and some are not like gpu.
So a windows released in 2007 will not have device driver of hardware made later initially if the hardware does...

point taken but would it really be so hard for hardware makers and ms to cooperate so that new hardware contains a specific id that tells ms update exactly where to look on the web to automagically download drivers, instead of either having to do it manually or rely on generic drivers?
Does anyone have a working link of the lo/g/os iso?

apparently the repos are dead now.
the i3 configs are floating around the archives, though.

Doing this in Racket lisp with backtracking was pretty fun. When I get around to learning about constraint logic programming I'm going to try it again with their kanren module.

You tell me that when you write recursive subroutines in assembly.
/g/!!!!
I found an A8M2N at a goodwill!!
It includes 2 gigs of DDR2 and an A2 socket processor of some sort... How much is it worth and should I build it?
Trash. Worth 5$ if you can convince a junkie he can sell it for copper.
Throw an old HD series card with it and you'll have a nice little 2008 era mid range gaming rig/Linux box
They did not even bother to solder in the other two ram slots lol.
I just got back from 4 years out of the country with the navy.
I have an old computer that I bought maybe a year before I was sent off. I've upgraded to a GTX 970 with 12gb of RAM, but my processor is still the same.
i7 860 @ 2.80
Is this processor still pretty good? Will it significantly bottleneck the 970? I don't know shit about processors these days. I've been on the internet like 10 times since 2012.
Also it hasn't been OCed at all, so if it isn't good enough @ 2.80, is OCing rather than upgrading viable?
Thanks....

OC it and you'll be fine

My cooler is a shit box from bestbuy just to get it turned on right now because my liquid cooling died while I was gone. Once I get a better cooler in, any advice on what speed I should try OCing to? Like how far do I need to push it to get this processor on par with my 970?

Can anyone explain what the hell Microsoft did to paint?
Yes paint
Before Photoshop i learned paint on my first desktop on Windows 98
There were more features, i recall transparency & overlaying 2 different images
I also recall a free rotating 360 degree tool
I stopped using paint since xp tho
I recently used & you basically can not do anything remotely creative
Why down grade a software that was already there?
The new Paint has all of that still

Show me where the rotation circle is hidden
Also show me how to fade an image & make it transparent 50% and paste ontop of another image
Screen shot if u could
Is there a decent alternative out there yet?
Nope

What else do you faglords need? I've had version 2.9.3 for like 3 years now, zero complains cause it's fast as fug, bug free and does everything I'd expect a non cancerous social media focused app do.
