>By optimizing as many routines as possible without losing user friendliness, Notepad++ is trying to reduce the world carbon dioxide emissions. When using less CPU power, the PC can throttle down and reduce power consumption, resulting in a greener environment.
I've seen other programs doing this as well. Can it stop? Notepad++ isn't intensive enough to be relevant to cpu throttling. And a "bigger picture" notion of how everything is cumulative and connected, also results in something trivial.

It's a stupid thing to write when there are real problems to deal with. Ultimately software is going to be written to do what it needs to in a way that hopefully performs well, and it's going to be run on the hardware to do a certain task, when that task needs to be done, how that task, needs to be done. It's very simple. And there are myriad other ways people waste, like mowing their goddamn lawn every fucking week. That's something you can extrapolate hard figures about.

It's a gimmicky feel good marketing style.

(And I wish it would fuck off.)

It's a symbol of a false and self deluding cultural ethos. While we might not have rivers catching on fire anymore, relative to the imminent possibility of ecological collapse, people are just as bad as they've ever been. And there are more of us.

That is, an oversaturated market where your once valued degree is now worth less than a history degree

>needing degrees
unlese youre a doctor or engineer it doesnt matter. Do you think a piece of paper can tell how well you type lines of code?
>>
Hardly, Society is rapidly advancing to a technology-dependant stage. People who know how to work their way around a computer are needed now more than ever. Just because you sit at home all day waiting for someone to walk up to your door step and hand you a job offer, doesn't mean that other actually competent people are having the same issues.

Shut up retard.

>>55443175
Half this. Most programming positions are not high level engineering positions where you need critical development skills. At most you'll be doing front end development, refactoring or migration. Managing spaghetti code or doing tiny tweaks to preexisting methods.

You'll never get into a creative or active progression field without a degree though.

Why do people think smart watches are not useful?

It's incredibly useful to have instant notifications on your wrist, while having a bunch of other functions.

It's literally one of things that people thought as science fiction in the past.

How come there's so much negativity about these devices?

>There were reports over the weekend of AMD Radeon RX 480 4GB graphics cards coming equipped with 8GB of GDDR5 RAM installed. However the BIOS used by these '4GB' cards only allowed access to half of the physically installed RAM. To get access to the full amount of RAM some enterprising 4GB graphics card users claim to have successfully flashed a retail RX 480 8GB card BIOS.

I'd like to make a website with both forum and imageboard layouts which are separate, but you can switch between them with the click of a button.

How do I make this happen?

https://act.eff.org/action/tell-congress-quit-trying-to-sabotage-net-neutrality

>Net neutrality is under threat in Congress. Whether it’s slashing the FCC’s budget, attempting to prohibit the agency from enforcing its Open Internet Order, or stalling essential protections with redundant and unnecessary “studies,” lawmakers are using every trick they can to undermine the FCC’s work to keep the Internet free and open.

>As Congress debates the 2016 appropriations bills, numerous attempts are underway to introduce amendments designed to keep the FCC from enforcing its open Internet rules.

>Let’s tell lawmakers to stop standing in the way of net neutrality.

Last time I checked someone told me it was a bad thing, somehow.

Net neutrality is not the answer. A proper competitive market is. Let capitalism fix these problems.
