recently installed cinnamon on my desktop after a partitioning near-nightmare in W7. had to reformat after a lovely 'BOOTMGR.exe is missing' error
also discovered that a brand new ASUS laptop's default BIOS is incompatible with the newest version of mint. has anyone had any experience trying to install it on their newer models?

Now that the aftermarket 1070s are out, which brand is the best in terms of pure performance and heat dissipation?
All of the reviews I've read put them very close to each other and I've mostly seen EVGA and MSI being recommended with Gigabyte being surprisingly left out even though it was the first brand I was looking at.
What did you guys go for/what do you recommend?

Can we get away from the idea of mounting the graphics directly to the motherboard?
And on the power issue, it's a terrible idea to push 75-80 watts through the motherboard when you could use a quality power connector. Why not create a new power pin spec (6+8 pin) for power supplies so that we can get a better quality power supply standard for using new cards, so we can ditch the idea of drawing power from PCI-E.

Isn't it better that way. This way the government is not dependent on the companies making their software. This will also prevent applications that the government are yousing to spy on them. As an added bonus you get more linux addoption, which is always great.

My PC on W7 just started to download Windows 10, without asking, without notice, I can't see in anywhere, but the disk space is getting flooded with something + CPU is at 20%. Fuck Micro$oft. How to stop it senpai? I deleted the 303shit in Windows Update
I do gaemz, so I need Windows. What is the most usable/compatible Linux? I am into Android a lot (kind of a developer) and I know the principles, how it works, where shit's at etc (Android is a type of Linux, right?). I will need some kind of VM/Dualboot for the Windows, when on VM, is the FPS lower thsn on standart installation?
Should I consider SteamOS, since most games I have are on it?
