I'm so fucking done with Linux. The UI is horribly dated, looking like some windows 98 shit and no professional software for this garbage exists.

>inb4 GIMP instead of photoshop

who unironically uses that garbage? Its super unintuitive compared to adobe photoshop. And recompiling the fucking kernel to do audio work? Are you out of your mind? I want to produce audio, not know how to fucking program my OS.

You weeabo fags disgust me. Get the fuck out of here.

This is why it will never be "year of the Linux desktop"

People who use Linux are just looking for some sort of fulfillment in their dull lives.

Gimp is free software. This means that you have the authority to make it perfect. Fuck off if you're too lazy to do that.

Comfy rules:

r/trackers >>>/out/

Before you get in any whatcuck/what.cd faggotry for other trackers remember you can get in PTP using CG and BiB and BTN doesn't recruit atm. & you really don't need 90% what.cd if you have rutracker.

Not sure what private trackers are all about?

The mission of /ptg/ is to promote the highest possible standards of tracker service by providing members with opportunities for professional development, by recognizing technical competence through examinations and by advancing the interests of its members.

Check out the wiki and update it yourself if you want more instead of complaining like a fucking faggot. https://wiki.installgentoo.com/index.php/Private_trackers

>people may report emails and other personal info posted here to staff to get you banned.
>most of the invite offers here are people trolling you with false hope - begging for invites is a waste of time and you should just interview

What cheap Chinese tech have you bought, and would you recommend it?

Yes, we know everything is already from China but in here we discuss the no/low-name cheap shit you see on eBay, AliExpress and similar sites.

My sister converts her MP3s to FLAC because "the quality is better".

Well MP3s lose quality over time so technically she's correct

She's right. Rotational velocidensity affects all audio files encoded with lossy compression. These include mp3, aac, and ogg.

The most notable effect of rotational velocidensity is the loss of bitrate in files. A lossy audio file will lose an average of 12kbps a year. But, this can vary greatly depending on the type of storage media used.

Examples:

SATA HDD: ~12kbps
IDE HDD: ~15kbps
SCSI HDD: ~7kbps
DVD: ~16kbps
CD-R/RW: >21kbps

This can be overcome by compressing audio using lossless formats such as FLAC, APE, or TTA. These formats are designed to never lose quality over time, and will sound the same right now as they will in 10 years.

It's pretty much unlimited. The problem is that most people haven't been trained to memorize big lists and other data on demand.

W7 is a 3 course meal at a Michelin star restaurant, everything is done for you, and you can expect high quality service and food/drink, linux is eating out of the dumpster outside, sure you might taste some of the good stuff, but you are eating and sifting through garbage for scraps.

Linux worshippers will deny this even though it is objectively true.
