Is a high end gaming pc wasted without a 144 hz display?
There isn't a GPU yet that gets more than 60 FPS on Ultra in modern games like Quantum Break so a 144 hz display is useless.
>>53827546
Only if you want to play low end games like CS: GO, Dota, LoL, etc.
Most newer games won't even break 60 fps on good settings.
Monitor refresh rate is a meme, don't buy into it. Get a free sync/g sync monitor if it bothers you.
PS2 has died, and yet it's emulation is never achieved.
>>53825909
PS2 emulation has been a thing for years.
In 2010 I was playing FF10 on a fucking Athlon 2 with a 5570 for fuck sake.

If any of you can crack the code, you will forever change the election.
DC Madam's attorney has hidden an election bombshell. It is due to be released in two weeks.
http://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2016-03-31/dc-madams-attorney-says-election-bombshell-already-online
>“There’s a link right now, that if you had, you would have access to the records,” Sibley says about the website. “If I die, disappear, whatever, they will be out.” Sibley says his website hosts PDFs of Palfrey call logs that contain about 5,000 phone numbers, along with downloadable spreadsheets that contain the names and addresses of 815 Verizon Wireless customers from those logs, which he acquired with a subpoena ahead of Palfrey’s trial.
The story from a fellow anon:
>woman known as "DC Madam" runs high-end escort service in DC for over ten years
>amasses large database of high powered politicians and their sexual encounters with her hookers
>she gets investigated, walls start closing in on her
>"dies mysteriously" in 2007, hanging in her mom's backyard shed is considered a suicide
>but before her death, she gace all her information to her lawyer
>after her death, lawyer was put on gag order, making it illegal for him to release the data
>story gets forgotten for years
>2016 election comes
>the lawyer wants to release the information because it is "very relevant" to this election
>he has set an ultimatum of 2 weeks. if the courts dont lift the gag order in 2 weeks, he's gonna do it (madman.jpg)
>info will also be released automatically
>he set up four servers across the world, and if he doesnt enter a password every three days, the information will be sent to a bunch of media outlets
>this "dead man trigger" style system helps protect him from "disappearing"
Post all relevant info and findings here.

Those are domains. Within one of them there is a PDF and or Xcel file that contains a list of Clients who payed for Prostitutes in Washington DC.
One of those names is a presidential candidate. We are trying to acquire those files and expose the Presidential Candidate for the better of USA.
My bet is its Ted Cruz, but Hillary is probably just as likely.

Post your job interview failures. I've been to 2 and I've made a fool of myself both times. I'll start:
>be a student, main in C++
>apply for .NET internship
>basically no higher knowledge of .NET, hope they'll let me learn
>spend 3h every day for a week doing algorithm related tasks from Cracking the Coding Interview
>the technical interview comes up
>only I show up out of other 3 people who applied
>bring my mom's laptop with a dual boot Debian because it's faster than the bloated Win7 it came with
>the woman overseeing the interview says I can use the internet for help
>wow is this really gonna be some babby shit
>hands me a paper with the assignments printed on it
>"blah blah make a structure for storing information about some shit"
>seems alright but I'm starting to get paranoid if it could be that simple
>"write a verification method for file input for this structure"
>i'm a bit rusty on the file io shit but I'll manage
>"write 2 tests for that method"
>"write a tdd like implementation (or whatever I can't remember) of the earlier method"
>I never used tests in C++, never needed them in student projects but I've been meaning to learn boost for a while
>I can't connect to the internet because loonix is sperging out on me and doesn't ask me for a username and password for the wifi that I've been given
>panic on top of already horrible stress
>focus on the 2 first tasks, stumbling on every little bullshit on the way
>using the CL for compiling it every 5 seconds to check if it works
>too embarassed to admit I don't know why the internet doesn't work
>I thought of restarting the laptop and booting up Windows with the code pasted on pastebin or something
>dismiss the thought, because all I've got on Windows is Qt Creator and my time's running out
>give up after over an hour
tldr: I've panicked and wasn't thinking rationally because of stress. Also it's the last time I'm using Linux on a job interview.
>>53796765
They didn't hire you because you spilled your spaghetti. Don't do that.
>>53796765
> do you know php?
> yeah sure
> you're hired
that was not hard
>>53796797
I'm actually waiting for an answer because this was just a couple of days ago. I know they won't hire me but I get those little sparks of hope every once in a while and it just makes me sink into depression like the last time I got rejected. Trying to decide if I should give up getting a job for the moment and focus on my masters or keep trying.
>>53796949
I wish things were this easy for me for once.
>finish up codecademy tutorial
>want to make my own app
>download JDK and sublime
>start writing up beautiful code
>can't get the damn thing to actually run
What the fuck? Why is everything so easy in Chrome but not on Windows? Halp!
>>53837401
Because codeacademy formats your shit for you and generally tells you what you're doing wrong. You won't get good advice here anyway.
For reference, not even this works....console.log("hello world");
>>53837426
You do have the shit in a main method in a class or something... right?
Was he right?
the question of what is and isn't science is fundamentally a personal one. he doesn't think CS is science.
Too often at too many universities, computer science gets equated with software development.
>>53834968
No.
Is math science?
Since virtualbox is fucking garbage that doesnt work. What can i use to run a simple vm on linux?
Just tried starting a simple vm on both my debian and w7 machine. The debian machine cant read boot media. Ive tried ide/sata and all the chipset and controllers and several isos. Nothing works. The windows machine crashes the vm on startup.
What a fucking piece of garbage shit software. People actually use this horseshit?
>>53834676
It works on MY machine
>>53834676
it works perfectly for me
maybe you should kys for using debimeme and w7
Why is Virtual box garbage?
