Because of the exact dichotomy you demonstrate between "meh hobby" and "I'm better than you". You try being better than everyone else and once you can't argue back, you hide behind "wellll it was just a hobby anyway what are you some kind of no funner".
Same exact shit with BSD, haiku, we have those threads sometimes where it starts off with "Why aren't you using BSD, I'm better than you" and by the end of the thread, only 50 posts later, it's "wellll it was only for servers so fuck off". Only difference is arch is linux based and tries to fit in with the other distros.
Will you keep this "muh hobby" opinion the next thread we have where you're talking about how so much superior it is? Of course you will not. You'll say it's applicable for anything as long as you're "smart" but the moment you lose that argument you'll be right back here at hobby.
Your trusty phone charging cable is technology. What kind of cable does /g/ use? Bonus points for fast/quick/turbo charging.
I use anker powerline micro usb cables. They seem to speed up charging somewhat.

Haven't had any problems so far but I've only owned them for about 2 weeks. I got them pretty cheap (3-pack for $7) so if they turn out to be trash I won't feel too bad. They seem sturdy as fuck though.

my zowie ec2 evo is double clicking after 3 years of use so either i fix the switches or buy a new mouse.
I'm looking for mice with comparable performance and ergonomics as the zowie mice and so far my friends have recommended me the mionix castor, but let me know what you guys recommend.

one of my coworkers uses phpstorm to great effect. I prefer Atom or Sublime Text 3 in vim mode more. Honestly, whichever tool you can learn and be productive with is the best, whether that's vim or a more fleshed out IDE like PHPStorm. Take the trial and then decide if you'll use all of the features.

My brother just ordered a new phone and it will arrive the next week so i'll take his old HTC One X to replace my dumbphone. I want to know what would be the best things to do on this phone? Like, i'm already looking on XDA forums and instantly saw the Cyanogenmod 12.0 rom availble but i'm not sure if that's the best to flash on it or if i should put something else like the Resurrection Remix rom. Any advice would be welcome mostly if you have experience with that phone. Also as the last question i'd like to know if i should just use my primary gmail account or if i should create a throwaway just for it. Thanks!

Xubuntu is almost perfect for Linux newbs. Everything just works. Being too heavy on the CPU is its only downside against Lubuntu.
