>Dude brings laptop
>"Man I Cant't login, i dont know if kids changed pass or wth"
>Keyboard is fucked up and half the letters don't work
>Now I make my "Seriously?" face
>Dude tells me password and I say well I'll try something, leave the laptop
>Later I connect USB keyboard, pass he told me doesn't work (now I'm pissed off)
>It doesn't have an optical drive
>My Windows 7 USB installer doesn't boot
>Third party application for password recovery doesn't boot
>Laptop is configured properly in Bios
>I re-make usb installers just in case
>Still doesn't work (does on my PC)

By now, I lost 2 hours, and is something I can't charge the dude much for because he is dirt poor, and still could not fix it, I really thought it would take me 5 minutes and was a win.

I do ocassional work by myself to earn a few bucks, but hell it pisses me off sometimes when nothing works, fuck PC repair, I can't wait to get a stable job at something else and tell to go fuck themselfs at all the people that bring me completely broken shit.

Or even worse when I go to someone's house and they have a socket A Sempron with 256MB of RAM and want you to fix some problem, and the piece of shit takes literally 8 minutes to open the browser and freezes all the time meanwhile they are standing next to you with an impatient attitude.

FUCK. THIS. JOB.

Pic related is what I want to do in this situations.

You should be thankful for having a job.
>>
No problem m8
you just need to get better at your job
You should have just connected that hdd to your laptop and ripped the password.

Isn't that the whole catch with troubleshooting?

You have different routine protocols you follow for a variety of problems working with the most likely solution to least likely, sometimes it's quick and other times it's long but on average you're good.

Get over it, faggot.

Looks like the app is crashing due to poor hardware, like, you have a shitty outdated phone with too many apps running in the background and/or shitty/unstable internet connection.

Take this from an arch user, just stick with Windows or something like Ubuntu or Mint.
It really isn't worth it at all and there's nothing I can do on arch that I wouldn't be able to do on a smaller distro.

IRC: #/tpg/ on irc.rizon.net

Other business laptops are also welcome in /tpg/ (e.g. Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook).
----
If you're looking for purchase advice, READ THE BUYERS GUIDE FIRST. Then post, stating budget and requirements (e.g. size and performance).
Don't buy anything OTHER THAN T, X AND W/P SERIES if you want the Real ThinkPad Experience™

Recommended models:
T420 - 14", normal size
X220 - 12.5", lightweight
----
Why ThinkPad? (also applies to other business laptops)
>Used machines are plentiful and cheap.
>Excellent keyboards - tactile feel and quiet.
>Great durability: chassis uses a magnesium rollcage for structural integrity, with high quality plastic body panels.
>Utilitarian design: e.g. indicator LEDs, 7 row keyboard layout on older models.
>Docking stations that easily turns your laptop into a desktop.
>Easy to repair, upgrade and maintain thanks to readily available service manuals for every model. Spare parts are easy and cheap to obtain.
>The best trackpoint (that red thing in the middle of the keyboard). Great for those who type a lot or hate swiping their fingers all over a touchpad.
>Excellent GNU/Linux & *BSD support.

Is it okay to put my x220t on my bedsheets? Will it overheat?
>>
Anybody running Libreboot on a X200 here know if using 1333mhz and 1600mhz ram is possible?
There is any specific reason why it is used 1066mhz RAM, or is is just because it was the way libreboot was compiled?

>>54159657
I think most notebooks will overheat on bedsheets
>>
>>54159657
as long as you dont block the back/left side it will be fine. My t420 only runs 5-7c warmer with bedposting use. I usually have it on a piece of wood though.

RSS makes it really easy to fuck over blogs and news sites by viewing their articles without bothering with their ads, so I'm surprised I don't see any mention of RSS anymore.

Do people still use RSS even?
