So, I'm starting graduate school next month, and I need to decide if I should bring my desktop PC with me. I'm already bringing my laptop because my school requires everyone to have one, and they are also supplying everyone with an iPad... On the one hand, it would be comfy to have a 22" monitor desktop set-up in my room, but on the other hand my room is going to be really tiny (9' x 11'), and I also don't want to pay for the extra electricity that the desktop would use (poorfag). I'm not going to do any gaming.
The desktop is self-built:
>AMD Phenom II X4 955 (3.2 GHz)
>8 GB RAM
>AMD Radeon HD 6850 GPU
>1 TB HDD
>22" monitor
The laptop is a ThinkPad T430:
>Intel Core i5 3320M (2.60 GHz)
>8 GB RAM
>Intel HD Graphics 4000
>180 GB SSD
>14" display
I believe the iPad will be latest generation 64 GB model. (I'm not a big tablet guy...will probably just use this to fap with lol)
What do?

Sell it and get your money back.

Sell the iPad? I think my school will frown upon that. They may force us to keep it by having iPad-specific bullshit as part of the curriculum. I don't know yet. I will definitely sell it if we're allowed lol.

You have to pay for your own electricity in your dorm?

See if you can trade it in for a mind of your own
Get a 486 instead
Are there practical reasons not to use windows 10 in a corporate environment? It seems like it's a huge apology to corporate IT departments from Microsoft, I can't find any reason not to roll it out.
Especially since a good chunk of my users are using windows 8 and whining about it.
Any reason why I should delay the rollout at this point?
And yet you haven't listed a single reason why you SHOULD. And complaints from users doesn't count since they'll cry and whine about literally anything.
>>55382430
Well, the biggest reason why I should is the software we use has requires a specialized plugin on all versions of windows other than 10. Once we don't need to use that plugin it should cut down on calls to the IT department by at least 60%.
>>55382430
Also, we have a "special relationship" with microsoft (they're a major shareholder in our company) so we have the benefit of being able to direct all Windows related calls directly to Microsoft along with other benefits (they send in AD guys for free etc...) in exchange for them getting free licensing to all our shitty GUI dependent backup software.
What do you think extraterrestrial technology looks like and is capable of?
The Earth Coincidence Control Office has already told us that the world government has enslaved some weaker aliens and forced them to turn the signals they use for communicating with each other into brainwashing waves.
Currently the only way to repel them is a Faraday cage.
We must free our space-faring brothers and learn from them!
They must have some dope masturbation tech.

I dont understand the news about the rx 480 drawing more than 75 watts. Don't most super expensive high end gpus pull more than that as well? What am i missing
>>55382164
Thats not the issue, the issue is that its pulling more than that through the slot.
Full length PCI-E slots are specced to deliver up to a maximum of 75W. Any more than that and the increased resistance losses from moving through the board traces and across the slot conductors to the card will eventually cause thermal damage to both the card and the board.
Additionally, if the board doesnt have some form of PCI-E booster power socket and/or that power socket is not occupied, it can overstress the 12v...

The stock AMD card only has one Sox pin power connector. A six pin connector can only give 75 watts. So, the card has to take power through the PCIe slot from the motherboard. the card is pulling too much power from the motherboard, and so in some cases, the motherboard will shut down.

>Don't most super expensive high end gpus pull more than that as well?
The problem is it draws over 75W through the PCIE slot, which is only rated for 75W.
This can damage your motherboard (already reports of this happening to some people) or just make the card not work at all.
Even expensive GPUs don't do this, AMD just fucked up bad with the 480.
us3n3t thread. while all the faggots are stroking theselves in the pt thread, lets share some .nzb hoster links or index links

is there a better indexer than nzb.su?
been using them for years now.
Is it possible to get on usenet free?

What's wrong with Windows 8.1?
>>55381694
Outdated, unfinished, sluggish compared to 7, 8.1 and 10
Aside from Modern UI, nothing really. Even then you can use Start8 or Classic Shell and avoid the start screen all together. I actually like 8.1 over 7.

I am learning python atm and i cannot seem to find the problem in my code.
I am trying to make a program that encodes the input using a ceasarian cipher. For some reason, instead of returning the code, it just returns a blank. I have tried this several different ways, but i cannot seem to make it work.
"""Ceasar Cipher code"""
x = list(input("enter phrase to be encoded, letters and spaces only"))
y = list(map(ord,x))
n = int(input("enter ceasarian key"))
def encodeint(y):
return [32 for i in y if...

i changed that afterwards, sorry lol
But the point remains. The function returns an empty list still
