Outdated, unfinished, sluggish compared to 7, 8.1 and 10
Aside from Modern UI, nothing really. Even then you can use Start8 or Classic Shell and avoid the start screen all together. I actually like 8.1 over 7.

The start screen is awesome. I don't know what people don't like about it. Probably that it's different.
