How did Microsoft fuck up kernel design so badly?

By not feeding it the blood of laptop batteries? I might use Linux if it didn't fuck my battery so hard.

Scrollbars on kernel space are really disk I/O intensive tasks.
You can disable superfetch and index services to get better SSD performance, also see if you have TRIM enabled.
Windows 20 years old legacy code doesn't get along with newer hardware.

Buy a NUC. Smaller than a Mac Mini. You aren't gonna get much tinier than that and have a proper x86 PC with at least some expandability.

/g/ can you help me understand this, we have so much technology right now, to think that I can be on my balcony and look at pictures of other worlds from my tablet is pretty advance imo , but technology has yet to create a practical artificial heart or kidneys, my question is, why? What' s keeping us from being at the point where technology is so advance that you can have a new heart, a better one or a kidney. Where are humans lacking right now /g/, and what breakthrough do you think will change the world.

foreign body rejection. causes parts to clog up (body tries to rid the device). anti-rejection meds used in transplants doesn't work with mechanical parts. they gotta get over that bump first. stem cell and cloning might have gotten us closer but you know what direction that took.

Jordan,

If you're reading this, I just want to know that seeing you continue to post on /g/ after all these years is making me very happy.

You're a part of the reason I stuck around on /g/ back in 2007 or whenever it was I came here. I have many good memories of your desktops, nudes and quality posts.

Thank you, friend.

Every properly programmed recursive function beats the living shit out of non-recursive functions. Here's an example. I've programmed two different programs which count the n:th fibonacci number (f0 = 0, f1=1). The first one is a recursive mother fucker optimized with dynamic programming. This little bugger runs more than twice as fast as the non-recursive version below!

So this one runs in like 0.03 seconds on my machine for n = 30k which is pretty good.
#python2 fib_dyn.py  0.02s user 0.01s system 94% cpu 0.028 total
#python2 fib_dyn.py 0.02s user 0.01s system 88% cpu 0.034 total
import sys
sys.setrecursionlimit(100000)

x = 30000
fibs = [-1] * (x+1)
def fib(n):
if fibs[n] != -1:
return fibs[n]
if n == 0:
return 0
if n == 1:
return 1
fibs[n] = fib(n-1) + fib(n-2)
return fibs[n]

ans = fib(x)

And this piece of shit runs in about 0.07s, which is more than twice as much as the previous.
#python2 fib_lin.py  0.06s user 0.01s system 93% cpu 0.072 total
#python2 fib_lin.py 0.06s user 0.00s system 96% cpu 0.069 total
x = 30000

a = 0
b = 1

i = 0
while i < x - 2:
y = b
b += a
a = y
i += 1

ans = a+b

What is stack depth and readability?

All recursive functions have the potential to exhaust the stack. Iteration never has this problem. Recursion is just for try-hards.

So someone is emailing my sister claiming to be an old teacher of hers and asking to meet up with her, generally being a dick. Things got a bit out of hand and, to cut a long story short, this person has been reported to the police. How likely are they to track this person just from an email address? Will they be able to find out exactly who it is?

yes emails contain the origin ip address in the header so you could match it to their home internet connection

casual or xX_ProGaymerz_Xx ?

Why does /g/ like to knock on gaming gear when it literally has the best specs in the market, with higher standards of quality compared to normal products and with better build quality to whitstand hours of gaming... face it /g/ the best hardware right now is made for gamers. This is applied to literally almost every single piece of hardware peripheral.

- Gaming monitor 144 hz 1ms response time
>BUT MUH IPS
unless you are working at a graphic design company or are to much of a manlet to view your monitor at a proper angle then you are completly retarded if you believe this meme.
- Gaming mechanical keyboards, both of them, blue for gaming and red for typing.
- SSD for faster games loading times and boot times.
>BUH MUH WRITE/READ DETERIORATION
fuck off, if you are too much of a poorfag to buy a sdd atleast every 5 years then you are literally to poor to be on the internet, go milk your dawm cows hershell.
- i7.
- Gaming mouse/mousepad combo.
gaming mice are simply better, no arguments can be made against it, they have the best sensors and the best switches, and if you use anthing wireless you are too lazy to even be alive.
- Audiophile headset/Audiocard combo.
this is self explanatory, there IS a difference between a 50 dollar and a 400 dollar headset, and if you think your ears can't tell the difference between them just fucking kill yourselves.
- Gunners to avoid eye strain.
cuz flux is for autists

Prove me wrong poorfags.

>>51794876
Because the price to performance ratio is really bad.

There is literally no difference between a 50 dollar headset and a 400 dollar headset if the latter is just the $50 one with added LEDs and a $350 markup. It's just the psychology of you paying more and therefore having to believe it's better because the alternative is that you're a retard.

- No superres and superchromares algorithms.
- Poor lua scripting api, can't defining profiles, picture related with MPDN.
