Is there still a way to root this wonderful machine? I can't seem to find any reliable method that's still current. It's the T-Mobile LTE version. All the guides I find are either for the T999 normal version or they're out-of-date for my version. I'm too poor to upgrade.
Pls
Look at some XDA threads for some poo in loo Roms and how to root if you haven't already I'm sure there's a cm 13 for the s3
>>55531943
Like I said, I can't find a reliable method for rooting. Someone told me all I had to do was flash TWRP and then Super su from TWRP, but to do that requires root, a Catch 22.
Any opinion against Mac users?
I had to spend a whole school year with a pretentious Macfag.
>>55530088
>I had to spend a whole school year with a pretentious Macfag.
My deepest condolences.
>>55530088
>I had to spend a whole school year with a pretentious Macfag.
I share your suffering.
In my case it was an arrogantly ignorant Winfag.

Run a tor node on it. Or set it up as NAS. Any kind of server really.
In your opinion, what are the easiest ways to make money on the side as a CS student? I'll need to come up with $40k over the next 3 years or take out student loans. I have a lot of personal experience with MEAN if that helps.
>>55529898
I know you're hoping for some kind of seekrit job opportunity, but the answer to your question is either prostitution or dealing drugs DESU.
>>55529898

Windows rot
How often do you guys reinstall windows? I was thinking about it to free up some hard drive space but I don't know if it's worth it. Thoughts?
get better storage
i was on the same install for about 7 years and i only had a 10k rpm drive. only formatted to do fresh install to 10
if that shit slows down over time it is 100% user error
>>55529684
I used to reinstall xp about once a year. I haven't found the need to do the same with 7 or 10
>>55529684
Not very often. My windows VM hasn't slowed down for ages. Probably because I don't use it very often
Why does chrome/chromium default to having images displayed with a harsh white background?
Don't they have humans working at Google that realize our eye balls can only handle so much bright white?
>>55529667
normies prefer it that way, 10 years of conditioning by microsoft has ensured that this is "how computers work" now and forever amen
>>55529667
why are they not using a transparent background?
They'll probably switch to black once the majority of people start using OLED monitors, since LCD consumes more power to display darker colors and less to display white.
>ITT: We nitpick shit about other people's ad blocking extensions autistically
Is there somewhat of a consensus about the most efficient way to block ads? I noticed that AdBlocker alone still shows some ads, and I've seen people here say that using AdBlocker + NoScript is redundant, and that Ghostery is a botnet. What is the right way to block ads then? How do you block ads?
jewblock oranges
>>55529630
ublock origin+umatrix
umatrix is optional. only use if you want more control than ublock advanced mode gives you.
A more efficient way is to modify your hosts file or run a dns server that blocks ad domains.
If you have an rpi, think about running a squid server or something.
Real men use uBlock Origin. UMatrix if you want autistic-level control.
Google introduces Android Shilling Program for India
> We are excited to announce the launch of the Android Shilling program. Aimed at training two million developers in India over the next three years and in support of the Shill India initiative of the Indian government, we hope to provide easy and affordable access to world-class shilling

Who else /bottleneck/ here?
Pic related. CPU just came in the mail today so I can finally use the board and RAM I've had for like 2 weeks. Still sitting around waiting for all this GPU hype to die before I make that jump. I DID have an 8800GT but the thermal pads on the memory need to be replaced so it's housefire.
Who else is squatting on a half-complete build or is waiting to upgrade or is stuck in some bottlenecked limbo for god knows why else?
>>55529475
I have a prebuilt so stuck in limbo for a while.
no bottlenecks here famerino
maybe if i had more pixels

Hey guys. Any of you know any sites to learn various types of coding languages? I really want to get into it I just don't know where to start. I know some really basic Java, but I am nowhere near perfection. Any suggestions?
>>55529199for(Poo In:Loo) {
System.out.println("Pajeet my son")
}
>>55529199
java is a good language to learn, it's actually the best beginner language to start with because the IDE's hold your hand so much, Like if you fuck up and make a mistake the IDE's will not only tell you it's fucked but also offer solutions to fix it.
No other language does that that i know of.
>>55529199
You should go learn Haskell.
Haskell is a pure functional language that makes it easy to avoid errors because it is based on solid abstractions rather than crap like Java. Since you haven't done much programming before, it will actually be easier to pick up, since your mind hasn't been poisoned by imperative and object-oriented programming.
It's easy to get a job in Haskell nowadays, because everyone is realizing that it is the best way to go.
>your shit battery tech
>how you fixed it
Elementalx and using FaceBook in Chrome instead of in-app has bought be a solid 4hrs on my Nexus 5
>>55529197
Polaroid phone i got apparently comes with a battery pack. So I guess just get one of those.
>>55529197
I Installed Greenify + Amplify and then disabled useless programs on startup. Also not using Facebook's official app helps a lot.
Nexus 5 is a damn good looking phone, too bad the battery is quite shit otherwise it would still be good enough for me
>>55529287
Saw some guy on YouTube put a G2 battery in, but I feel like mine would blow up in my pocket or something
Firefox held me down for quite some time, but at this point, I can't deal with frequent crashes and fucked up javascript issues with my whole browser turning black or seizing up.
What is the one true successor to the fox? Was it always Opera?
>>55529185
Opera is just another WebKit browser now. So just use any WebKit browser.
>>55529185
Try resetting your Firefox profile.
>>55529185
They're shagging in that picture??
